• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking to add pegs to my :spyder2:, for the long trips. There are more then enough kits out there, but few enough
pics of them installed. Could you guys that have them post some pics and tell me which vendor you go them from.

Thank you,
V

I tried both the ESI and KewlMetal Footpegs. I'll share my insight.

Both are straight forward to install. Removing all the panels is half the work nojoke

The ESI footpegs are positioned further forward. If you're not too tall, you may find the pegs a little too far forward (even with the 4" extender). Although you are warned to not bear your full weight on them, I did fear if someone stepped up on them, it would bend the lower bike frame. Overall, they were a welcome addition.

The KewlMetal footpegs are positioned further back. if you're taller, you may not find them forward enough. The brackets mount closer to the centre frame and seem like a solid mount. As others have noted, the foot pegs could shift (rotate) if you put firm pressure on the pegs.

note: A downside of installing either footpeg, you'll have to remove them every time you remove the lower side "kick" panels...(maybe there's a trick to bypass this, but I haven't found it).

As requested, I snapped a couple of photos of the KewlMetal footpegs for you to see. Good luck.

I agree with Stan's description of the mounts. I have the ESI mounts and like them very much. However, I am 6'6" so they are comfortable for me and I've had no issues with them bending or not holding my weight. I don't stand on them and see no reason why anyone would since they are so far forward.
I also agree that a shorter person would probably be better served going with the Kewlmetal mounts. I also have the black Rivco pegs as shown in Mr. Orange's pictures and like them as well. No vibration.

I'm gonna throw my .02 in for what it's worth. Seal FloorBoards are both FloorBoards and front pegs.
VERY easy to install and no need to remove panels. Lots of pictures on my website. My Seal Pups can be used in conjunction with either front pegs shown above.

Ride in comfort,

I have a short inseam and went with the Kewlmetal brackets. I originally used the Iso-Wing pedals and KW extension links but rejected both as they tended to pivot under pressure. I now use Kury straight pegs and the KW adapter fastened directly to the KW bracket. I can, and do, stand on these.

Neez.....where did you get the brake pedal extension?..Wonder if that would work on the parking brake?

Great thread,by the way!!

I made it up from a piece of 1/8 x 1 x 5 1/2 inch flatbar, and used the existing holes as a drilling template. Fastened with #8 strength bolts. Took about an hour to make and it sure saves the knees and quickens brake reaction time. And , yes, others have done the same thing on the RS parking brake. I personally don't have a problem applying the parking brake, so I didn't bother with that. BTW, I believe Kewlmetal and ISCI both make ready made extenders that look much nicer than mine, lol.
