• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

High Mile 2014 RT-S

ALRIGHT CUZ!!!!!

I personally know Chuck plans to make 100K before the New Year - I'm sure he'll do it!!!!:clap::clap:

Since March of this year we have put over 11,000 miles on our 2015 RTS. Had it since 26 Augut 2015 and it has almost 14,000 miles on the odometer.

Now that I own a RS, I wonder how many valve adjustments were needed for those miles?

RE: Valve adjustments. On 1330's, there are no valve adjustments required.

On 990's here is what I found. Owned two. Did required first adjustment at 10K (before they moved it to 14K). No adjustments required. Cost $800 plus.

I let the second one go to 28,000 miles. Cost $800 plus. No adjustments required. They screwed the job up. Did not add a new valve gasket. They had to fix that one on their dime.

I am not intending on doing a valve adjustment on our 2011 until 50K plus. It will depend on how I feel at the time.

Most feel just like me. If you choose to do a valve adjustment--it's your money. Most feel the valve adjustment is overkill and the cost is surely through the roof.

That is good to know. The M109's that I owned required the same thing, but most never got them done and they were fine.

High Mile RT

I see there are a few that have a passion for mile piling. It's all I do.
Can we share some tips, as in tires, brakes? Stock Kenda's are a joke,
I put on a pair of Kumho Solas KH16 on the front on Cinco De Mayo and
have ridden 43,844 as of today, getting thin, may last the year.
The rear, the same tire lasted 20,143 before replaced with a General
Altimax. Starting to show some wear at 14,000 but will last maybe 12, 000
more. Should say the front tires are 155-60-15, rear 215-60-15. OEM tires
front and back are a "50" series, the 60 is slightly taller and will slow the RPM's
down some, engine used to spin at 3100 at 60 mph, now spins at 3000 @ 60.
I usually get over 40 mpg, very acceptable.
I'm rather a large fellow, 6'3" and 290 but love this Spyder!
Anybody have anything to ask? I'm no know it all, but know what I know. Most
of the stuff I do know I get from this forum.

Safe High Miles to all!

Iron Butt assn.

Fyi the Bmw owners group has a long distance division and those guys routinely put on100,000 miles a year. The mens mileage winner one year put on 150,000 miles in one year! Wow

Those guys and girls are borderline nut cases. 1000 miles a day for 11 days?

Addictive Ride

I have 93,500 on my 2014 RTS SM-6.

I bought mine and on the same day made an appointment for the first 3000 mile service
for a month later. That raised a few eyebrows, but when I showed up for the service the bike had 4300
miles on it. I had a BMW K1200LT with a Hannigan trike kit before this. I thought it was the ride to have.
I got a flyer in the mail for the new Spyder with the 1330 ACE engine and decided to take a test ride. I rode home to get the BMW title and asked them to have it ready for me when I got back. This Spyder has restored my love for riding. I'm handicapped and this is the last bike I'll ever own.

Keep it up long distance riders!

Buckeye Chuck

2014 rts me too

Chuck.

I bought a 2014 RTS cognac
in September of 2014 and I have 8200 miles on it....
We love it and it had no problems with it how often have you had to change the tires and have you had a tune-up?

QUOTE=Buckeye Chuck 54;1199203]I bought a new 2014 RT-S #4036 June 13th, 2014. I ride a lot, but I want to know if
anybody has passed the 50,000 mile mark, the 75,000 mile mark? the 98,000 mile mark?
I live in Ohio and tomorrow I will pass 98,000. I lost 3 months of riding in October '14 thanks to
a wayward deer, but still find a way to pile up the miles.
Anybody have more?
