• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HID Issue

I bought an after market HID kit. It was plug and play so I didn't have to cut any wires. When I started the bike after putting them in the first time it was fine. Later I went to restart it and it would not start, the bike would almost start then stall. A couple of times I got warning codes on the dash but turning off the key and back on and all was normal. I know it's the draw of the HID's causing this as if I pull the headlight relay the bike starts fine. I put the bike on a charger for a few minutes and it started and I went for a 47 mile ride doing about 50. I got home and after and hour when to start the bike again and got the same issue. If I pull the headlamp relay and start the bike and rev it to about 6,000 rpm and have a friend put back in the relay while it reved the bike seems to hold started. So is it maybee i just need a full battery charge (I thought the 47 mile ride would have done it) or do I need something else?? My ballasts are NOT digital. Would digital ballasts solve this issue??? Thanks

The hid kit from Magic Man worked great! Thanks to Lamonster for the tip on taking off the dash my hands didn't fit either.

Lightman,

My Spyder has done the same thing after I was working on it for a while using power for testing, etc. It is just a low battery condition. You would think it would be recharged after an hour of riding, but apparently that is not enough. Charge the battery fully and see what happens. The spyders alternator is capable of 50 amps according to the shop manual. It also states the normal draw without power steering is 15-20 amps.

Matt
