Ron & I purchased and installed HID headlights from Custom Dynamics. Installation was no problem but while Ron's bike worked just fine, mine would not start on the first try: When the HID would first spark to light, the high voltage would kill the ignition. :gaah:On the second try, while the lights were still on, it would start.
Ron installed a dedicated fuse wire from the battery to a relay mounted on the left side of the air cleaner triggered by any wire that gets "hot". When the key is turned on, then the HID come on before the engine is started, and it starts every time. Simply unplug the wires for the HID from the factory headlight sockets. Red is hot, black is ground and connect them to the relay: The computer doesn't know if the lights are on or off.
