Still riding after a stroke

I'm riding my 2022 Ryker Sport with just my right arm & hand working after I had a stroke in 2018. I'm blessed that I can still do many things by myself. I'd been riding motorcycles since 1970 and I missed it so I went to three wheels and love it! It took a while to learn how to adjust the way to do my body in turns, but I got that down now. And I'm not reaching for a front brake anymore. My left leg is week so I straddle the bike from the rear to get on. I used some 3m broom clips on the right side to carry my cane. Just added the Rox risers that makes the turns easy. Here's my saftey tip from Super Dave Osborne: Roses are red, grass is green wear your seat belt and save your spleen.

Welcome aboard StarRider, you're not alone in still riding after a stroke (or some other form of acquired brain injury... mine is courtesy of Military Service here in Oz ) and amongst us all, there's a fairly wide variety of ways we've been changed/impacted - but there's no denying that for all of us, these Spyders & Rykers do make keeping our knees in the breeze a whole lot more fun! hyea:

Check out the Enabled Riders sub-forum when you get a moment, there's lots of interesting & helpful reading in there; but please, check the latest dates of posts in any threads before replying to them - some of the threads on the Forum are getting a bit dated now, if I counted my fingers right, we've been here for over 15 years now, so unless you know the poster's are still active on the boards (& some of us are! ) there's probably not much use in trying to resurrect/ask questions in any thread that hasn't had any posts added in the last few months.... Sure, there'll be a few exceptions to prove the rule, but it still pays to check the date of the first post in any thread; the most recent few posts; &/or the date on any specific post in the thread that you might be thinking of replying to/questioning. :thumbup:

Thread archaeology can be good, but is often just confusing to all the current readers/any prospective answerers, so it always pays to check those dates first - but that doesn't mean you can't still ask any question you might have, just that it might be better to start up a fresh discussion thread rather than drag out something that was effectively resolved/fully hashed years.... For those, a new thread & a fresh look at it might be better - well, unless it's about tires.... or oils.... & windscreens.... Oh, and wheel alignments, thrott..... :sour: hmmm, maybe there's a lot more of those 'same old same old' type questions that've been thrashed to death & still get regurgitated repeatedly for another flogging than I thought?!? Oh well, just make sure that you ask if you've got any questions, even if it's been asked and answered before repeatedly, the worst that can happen is that you'll get pointed towards the right place to look for the answers, isn't it! And we all know the only stupid question is the one not asked! :thumbup:
