• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I would like to post a general maintenance question about something on my F3. Being new, I'm now sure how I can post on a new forum. Could someone advise. Thank you

Hi Poisionous, welcome to the Forum.

While you can only post in this section/sub-forum for now, not too many of us frequent this section to answer any specific Spyder questions you might have; and besides, as SpyderBot mentioned, we do ask that you "Do NOT post support questions here, please post them in the appropriate forum once your account is approved" ;) So, once all the background processing & checking etc for your membership & registration is completed, your Username will turn Blue and then you'll be able to post in most of the other sections & sub-forums. If we can readily find you & identify that you /your registration is truly you & it's using valid info, then all that processing should rarely take as much as a day, often just a few hours, but if we hafta search &/or dig deeper to verify that you are who the registration says you are, it might take a bit longer - still, it is something that needs to occur for your security as well as in order to keep the Forum free of all the dodgy types & advertising bots etc, so please bear with us while that occurs.

As for where to post your question, if you click on the Forum button in the main menu line above this thread (it's just a few lines above our Sponsor's advertising logos) you should see all the Sections & Sub-forums we have here; some for General Discussion, some of a more Technical nature, and a few other specific discussion areas - a maintenance question about an F3 is most likely going to be best suited to go in the F3 Shop Talk sub-forum of the Technical Support Section, that's about 1/3rd of the way down the page. But there's a lot of info on the Forum and that Main Index page you should check out while you're there & waiting for your Registration to be completed.

And then, while you're waiting until your Username does turn Blue, you can still Search the Forum to see if your question has already been addressed - we've been here for about 15 years now, well before the F3's first hit the streets, so there's a reasonable chance that someone else may have already asked something similar to what you want to know & if so, they've likely received a reply or two - just type the key words of your question into the Search field up toward the Top Right of the page; check the 'Search Titles Only' box in the drop down list below that field; Submit your search by clicking on the Magnifying Glass; and then read thru the titles of any results that may be returned to see if there's anything that looks like it might help.

We do ask that Members starting new threads try to put them in the appropriate Section/Sub-forum rather than just dumping everything into a General section or wherever they happen nto be at the time, so the various sections
& sub-forums can help narrow things down a bit; and we also ask Members to briefly state their question in their Thread Title to make it easier for anyone searching for similar info later on, which should also help you a bit in your search; but if you want to try and narrow the number/volume of any results returned, you can always navigate to the applicable section/sub-forum and select the 'Search Forum' button in the line just above the top of that index listing. That'll narrow the number of sections/sub-forums being searched down to just the applicable area; or if you want to look in a couple of sections/sub-forums rather than them all or just one, you can always try an 'Advanced Search' - the link to that is just below the main Search button. ;)

Still, it shouldn't take too long before all the processing for your Membership is complete, so I hope to see you out there & posting soon! Good Luck, and looking forward to seeing you out there on the public pages!
