• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Returning to motorcycles after a long sabbatical

Hello everyone!

I just purchased a new (to me) used 2011 Spyder RT. I've been researching all summer. I was actually planning scince last fall, but 2 wheels doesn't have a comfortable back seat required for my wife. Gold Wing was a no go for me. I didnt want anything that big. I was sceptical about the Can-am. I did dig in and it seems that most everyone really loves them. So I've taken the plunge.

Welcome to the forum Lurk. I hope you enjoy it. :congrats: on the new to you 2011 Spyder RT!! You can find lots of good information here on the Spyder RT in the different areas of the forum. Make sure and post a photo of your new ride in the Spyder Garage area of the forum when you are able to. You will love your your new spyder RT once you get use to it, but it will take some getting use to. Go slow specially when riding two up until you get use to the feel of the Spyder. It will roll in the corners more when you are two up so take your time to get use to that. There are things you can do to make things better once you get use to the ride, but you just need some seat time to relearn if your coming from 2 wheels its very different. No hand brake is a big change but the nice thing is when you come to a stop you don't have to put your foot down to hold the bike up, the bike will hold you up for a change. I hope to see you around the forum soon. :2thumbs: One more thing the dos & don'ts for new Spyder owners listed above is a very good thing to read.
