• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hey everyone, new member here. I have always been intrigued by the looks of Spyders since I first laid eyes on one, now I'm looking to possibly purchase one used (or a new Ryker Rally). So I am here to conduct research, learn what I can, and make an informed decision.

My motorcycle history is short. I took the basic motorcycle course before the iPhone came out. I owned a 2004 Yamaha V Star 650 (cruiser), then a 2004 Honda 919 (standard), then a 1979 Suzuki 750 (UJM). Rode to work as long as chance of rain was under 40% or the weather was 40+ (rains every day in the summer in FL, but barely ever gets cold by everyone else's standards). But many years ago I moved, changed jobs, stopped riding, sold my last bike.

The reason I mention the iPhone is because everyone has a phone in their hand nowadays. As much as I'd like to get a motorcycle, for my situation the risk vs reward just isn't worth it. The last thing I need is a person surfing social media changing lanes right into me. Obviously I don't want that to happen to me on a trike or in a car either.

Nowadays my only solo commuting is my 30ish mile round trip to work. I'm just looking to spice it up a bit. I'll be reading up on reliability, ease of DIY maintenance and repairs, etc. I'm torn between the Spyder F3 lightly used vs a new Ryker Rally. Even with their pros and cons, I haven't swayed towards one or the other yet.

Thanks all.
