Hi Randy, welcome to the Forum.
Sadly, you're probably reaching maybe only a dozen people at most with your post above here in this section, cos not too many people visit this Welcome section, and that's why
SpyderBOT says:
....Do NOT post support questions here, please post them in the appropriate forum once your account is approved.
Your 'joining processing' won't be complete until your username turns
Blue, like
SpyderBOT's, and only then will you be able to post out on the more frequented Public Pages of the Forum, but that usually takes less than a day. Seeing as how you've put so much effort into you post above, once your username has turned
Blue, I can have a go at moving it out into the
F3 Shop Talk sub-forum as a new thread in its own right. I'll send you a PM with a link to that new thread once I've done that, so keep an eye out for a flashing
Red 'Inbox'
Notification up in the top right corner of the page. But I still can't do that until all your joining processing is complete...
In the meantime, it might pay you to check underneath your F3, pretty much alongside/below the Left Hand frame joiner behind the foot peg/plate - under there is the Reverse Gear Lock-out selector thingie (highly technical term that!

) and that can easily get bent, giving you all sorts of gear selection and 'stuck in/out' of Reverse gear problems.

The bracket below & supporting the mechanism is meant to be straight, but it can easily get caught on things and bent out of whack, creating issues like those you describe, so sometimes the sort of gear selection problems you describe can be resolved simply by straightening that bracket/support. Might be worth checking, especially if you can recall dragging the belly of the bike over anything before all this started. Of course, there's a bunch of other things it could also be, like the LH Contol Module (the LH Handgrip!) or maybe the Gear Position Sensor?? :dontknow:
If you've already done that ^^ without success and you're still waiting to hear where I've put your post, it won't hurt you to check out the links in
SpyderBOT's post above - lotsa good info in there about your Spyder &/or getting the best from the Forum.

Hope to see you out there on the more frequented pages of the Forum soon; and with any luck, you'll be getting a more helpful answer to your question. :2thumbs:
