• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thanks for accepting me into this forum

Hi guys,

I've recently purchased a 2011 Can-Am Spyder RTS. I quickly realised that without a service manual and BUDS2, I'm at the mercy of dealerships that are pretty far and few between. So I purchased a Service Manual and the BUDS2 with MPI-3.

So far I have learnt a great deal on how these monstrocities behave on the road. Unfortunately my lifetime of motorcycle riding doesn't apply but my quad experience on the farm came in very handy.

Looking forward to meeting like-minded nutjobs and hopefully learning so much along the way.

BTW, I live in Far North Queensland, Australia.

Cheers,

John

Welcome to the Forum John! Always good to see another Ozzie on board, and one ryding a V-twin Spyder too! There's a few more Spyder Ryders up your way, some of them also prefer the revvier, peppier, and more exciting to ride V-twins (like my 2013 RT! ;) ) over those newer but lazier albeit significantly torquier 1330 Triples, but there's a smattering of both engine types up there....

While I spent a bit of a while up your way back a few decades when I wore a uniform, and then I used to visit a lot for work & 4Wheeling until about 7-8 years back, these days I don't travel so far/so often, meaning I'm usually a bit further away, mostly at/near home down here in the Adelaide Hills not too far outside of Adelaide. But it's a big country; there's actually quite a few Spyder/Ryker Ryders in Oz now (I'm told we've got a higher percentage of the population ryding Spyders/Rykers than in the US! ); and there's even an (almost) annual Spyder Muster where a few of the Oz Spyder Ryders gather together to share stories and compare Spyders/Rykers yada, yada, yada. This coming year (2024 ;) ) the Muster will be at Bathurst, Mt Panorama even, so if you are looking for a gathering of like minded owners/Ryders, it might be a bit of a long ryde for you, but if last year's numbers are any indication, there'll probably be something close to 150-ish Spyders/Rykers doing a lap of the track at some time over the weekend of 6-8 September 2024. Check out the OzSpyderRyders thread here:

Or get more info &/or Register for the Muster here:

And if you want to see if you can contact any of the other FNQ Spyder Ryders here on SpyderLovers (MickQ is a member here who lives up in Atherton, how far FN are you?? :dontknow: ) or any others I may know of in your area, drop me a PM by clicking on my username & selecting Send Private Message from the drop-down list & I'll send you some contact details. ;) You should be able send a PM now that you've posted here, but if the system won't let you yet, try logging out then back on to clear/reset your cookies; or make another post anywhere out in the more frequented public pages and that should let the system recognise that you've posted & so allow you send a PM. :ohyea:

I do hope that you didn't end up getting too wet &/or floating anywhere courtesy of the rain following Jasper?! It looked pretty damp up there for a while!! :yikes:

And all the Best for the New Year too!

Peter
