• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hello everyone!

Hello all! It's great to be part of the platform. I'll be totally upfront here.. I don't yet have a bike. I'm looking at getting a Ryker but need a little push by getting good information and figured this was the place to get it. I'm looking at getting a Ryker Rally and live in Southern Ca. I can't ride two wheels due to a neck issue so this seems to be the best option for me. I'm just worried about how many places there are to ride in my area. The Freeway and very busy streets seem risky due to all the extreme traffic and crazy drivers here in So Cal ( me being one !) So I'm wondering if there are many others that were in my situation and how they dealt with it. ( High Traffic areas ) I'm even considering getting a trailer and going out somewhere more rural and making a full day or weekend out of a nice ride...Well thanks again for having me and best regards to all!

Welcome to the Forum Doug, and to posting. No biggie about not having a Spyder or Ryker yet; after all, it is the SpyderLOVERS Forum, and not just a SpyderOWNERS Forum! :ohyea:

At the moment, your registration has started, but some of the pre-flight checks & processing will still be going - the final approval should be done fairly soon (it rarely takes more than a day! ;) ) and when it does, your username will turn Blue, like SpyderBOT's. Until that happens, you can only post in this Welcome section where just a few of us are regular visitors, so very few will ever see the questions you've posted above, and why SpyderBOT says:

Do NOT post support questions here, please post them in the appropriate forum once your account is approved.

As I mentioned above, it shouldn't take too long for your processing to be completed (Well, not unless you've made it really hard to find you & confirm that you are you & legit on the internet! ) In the meantime, those links SpyderBOT posted above hold a lot of really good info about how to get the best from the Forum; things to do and don't do when you're riding Spyders/Rykers; and there's even some things that might help you make your final choice too. Plus, there's a few Stickies at the top of the various Sections & sub-forums that're worth reading before you post in those sections, & there's the GREEN Forum Rules link above the text on most pages too - it's well worth you spending some time looking thru all that lot and maybe doing some searching & reading on the Forum too, there's not too many questions about Spyders/Rykers, riding them, and even working on them that haven't been asked & answered at least once since the Forum started way back in 2007/8

And of course, if you ever have any questions or concerns, you can always PM me or any of the other Mods (our usernames are green, like mine, over to the left of this post! ;) ) simply by clicking on our username either alongside a post or in the 'Currently Active Users' List down towards the bottom of the main index page you'll reach by clicking on Forum just to the Right of the Home button, then clicking on 'Send Private Message'; or you can post up and ask Forum 'operational type' questions in the Forum Support & Testing sub-forum listed 2/3rds or so of the way down under the General Discussions section heading on that main index page.

Looking forward to seeing you out there and posting in the more frequently visited pages soon, and once again, Welcome!

Thanks Peter for thoughtful and detailed response. I'll be sure to READ the info you provided before going into the deep end. I look forward to what all the great folks here have to say about their experiences and opinions.

Best Regards!
