• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I brought my Sea to Sky to the dealer this morning saying that my audio cuts in and out and then out completely. I only use the radio for FM music. Would you believe that when I arrived at the dealer the radio was working. When I left the the dealership it was working all the way home. I headed down to Long Beach Island and spent 3 hours riding and no audio. The dealer told me that it takes a good bit of time to remove lots of parts to get to the audio amplifier. He did say they already had a couple of bikes with the same problem and they replaced the amplifier. However, I don't want to leave the cycle sitting there for weeks and then when they finally check it out and order the parts, who the hell knows how long that will take, knowing BPR's reputation for delivery of parts.
I am waiting for a return call from service to see if he will order the amplifier and when it comes in he can set up a day for replacing it, instead of my bike sitting there for weeks.
Any Spyderites have any thoughts on this ???

Is this the same dealer that ripped you off for an un-needed 600 mile 1st service? Be wary!

I have a S2S as well no issues as of yet with the radio, but if they say its the most common issue with the radio it make since to me order it wait until it arrives then drop off the bike. It will still be a week down at least from what I have read on this site for them to replace it, better then a month or more though.

I have been dealing with East Coast Cycle Center for years and they have treated me well. There is new ownership now and I feel they are doing a good job. I spoke to the service manager (Dave) and discussed the possibility of ordering the amplifier from BRP and setting up installation when it comes in. He did say that the rear half of the bike has to come apart to replace the amplifier. Not a repair while you wait. That I understand. Most of my repairs were while you wait and they did a good job.
At the moment, he is checking the availability of the amplifier and will call me back. He did say that if the part comes in and is not the problem, they can't send electrical parts back to BRP. He mentioned it is a $1000 item. I told him that I would pay the $1000 if the amp was not the problem. He did say, that is not necessary. I am sure we will work out this problem. I like the old fashion car radios that you just pulled out from the front of the dash. As we know, Canam is a great bike but what a problem for some of the servicing. God bless Tupperware and the placement of all the hard to reach parts. LOL.

They didn't say needed. They suggested it to make sure everything is working okay. I could have said no, but I just wanted peace of mind.
I am going to them again for the 3,000 mile service to make sure my warranty remains in effect.
It's only money, besides I am spending my kids inheritance, not my money. LOL

A few folks have posted that the antenna cable was not plugged in correctly. This plug is under passenger seat. Something to check...

Now the fun begins. I just got a call from my dealer and they said they are 4-6 weeks behind on service and parts. I would have to leave the bike for a couple of weeks in order for them to get to the service for the audio. They did say a lot of parts have to come off to get to the audio system, including the back trunk and side bags etc. The only bad part, besides leaving the bike for 2 or more weeks is that all the repair bikes are stored OUTSIDE in the weather. Not happy with that. That means no battery tender to keep the battery charged. They did say I can cover the bike if I have a cover. Hmmmmm.
They did say that would put me in earlier since I am a long time customer and have purchased $90,000 worth of trikes from them.
