Try "clearing" that 70, and see what happens.
(It may have been left in there from a calibration attempt... :dontknow![]()
Bob , Tried that , didn't help . Are you having the same problem ?

Macbates, Does that number even change while moving?
Just got back from a fairly long ride with the following results:
Trip hour meter was correct: 4 hr 32 min, which I assume is 'engine on' time. Total of 182 miles.
The maximum MPH showed 76, which is correct. Average MPH showed 40, which seems to be right for 4.5 hours and 182 miles.
Instantaneous MPG fluctuated between 0.4 (stopped) and 70 (which appears to be the maximum). It's hard to tell, but the way the instantaneous MPG varied as I up and down shifted, it seemed to be correct. Average MPG stayed locked at 70, so it's a definite bug in the software. I'll report this to BRP, but if others report this also it may help.
I filled up the tank at the end of the ride, and the actual MPG came out to 42.8, which I don't think is bad at all, especially since the bike is brand new, I had a passenger, and a lot of the riding was in 5th gear (I was in the mountains).

I'm glad you are reporting all of this. At least people can be aware. Thanks.I called BRP yesterday , they checked and had nothing on record about this problem . They told me to go to the dealer and tell them to open a case with a PRP technician , which I did today , and they told me that they did that. When I told him that they had nothing on record , he said that BRP saves those for about a week , then discards them . My machine has the initial update with the additional required cord but this does not solve the problem according to the dealer .HE said I have to wait for the next update witch is coming , no not when , and that should solve the problem . meerkat :yikes:
Ironically, Can Am displays on previous years could not keep accurate time with the digital clock, what are the odds a full digital display will work correctly?
Sorry, I had to, like fishing in a fish bowl...
I'm wondering if any more info about the never changing 70 INST and 70 AVG dash setting has been figured out?
Tongue in cheek, but I strongly suspect installer error. Kind of like when you do a firmware update "push" on your smart phone, the very stern warning to have a full battery and not interrupt the download.
Well, that caution comes from experience from the phone manufacturers. Firmware done incorrectly or botched can "brick" the head unit, just like it can brick a phone. Sometimes they are unrecoverable. With all the ineptitude I read about, how little the folks doing the upgrades actually know (read that as trained, which BRP seems to lag on) and you could see the connection. I've only read one tale of a ruined dash, and they didn't say what happened, just that they hooked it up and now it needs replacing. The 50% number is probably the dealer trying to get people wanting upgrades to go away.
