• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

help on risers

Jimmy Neutron

Senior Moment
Okay Hand brake parts came today and I am taking bike to my friend for floor boards. So now before I but brake on I think I want risers. I am not sure because I have never sit on a spder with them. I am 6'2" what ones do i want and should I put them on now.

Hey Lamont is there any reason I can't mount my brake handle on the left side? I have a SE5 and i think theres room there. I am using a brake cable and lever off a Can am 4 wheeler my cable seems to be long enough. Any thoughts

I'm 6' and put on the 4" from NMN.
It depends a little on your torso length. I found that with the stock bars, I felt like I was pushing down when steering through a curve or making a sharp turn. After installing the 4", turning was alot less effort, due to hands being closer to shoulder height.

I can think of no good reasons not to, functionally. If it is a necessity for you, I would go ahead. The old trail bikes had a rear brake lever on that side with an automatic clutch. That brings up something to consider, though. Most bikers are not used to anything but a clutch lever on that side. I can't tell you how often I have grabbed that darned rear brake on my wife's Trail 90 while slowing to a stop, my brain thinking "pull in the clutch." Also, bikers are used to a front brake lever on the left. If you have previous experience, your brain may be "programmed" in such a way as to make you have to think about the brake lever in a new location. You don't have time to think! The same situation exists if you expect anyone else will ever ride your Spyder. That type of thing is why the Feds finally standardized motorcycle locations. Just some things to think about before you go ahead.

Well the problem I just ran into was the post is bigger around on the shift side then on trottle side so back to the right side I guess. Now its all about risers. I like idea about 3inch risers but I also know if I go with brps 1inch i can afford windshield and risers and hopefully soon back rest for my wife, Work is slow so money is tight.. Gosh I hate having to choose I want them all...
