• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HELP, Need some insight from the Spyder Big Brains regarding 2011 RT to RSS bar swap

Well as the title states I'm looking to swap the handlebars from a 2011 RT to a 2011 RSS (SE5) and need to determine if it is possible without major modification. I've searched the forums and found several posts regarding folks making the swap on 2013 and newer models but can't seem to find any info on making the swap on the earlier models 08-11. Any insight on previous efforts by others (wins or fails) appreciated along with any potential pitfalls :banghead: or problems with performing this modification would be appreciated. Thanks !

I will be performing this swap. A 3 to 4 hole adapter plate is the biggest difference I see early to late models.

Ive looked at the illustrated parts breakdown and like you said, it looks like the 3 to 4 hole adapter is the biggest hurdle to overcome. I have a 1" riser already and would consider taking it to a local machine shop to have them utilize it as a starting pattern to fabricate an adapter from 6061-T6 aluminum. One other potential pitfall would be whether enough wiring and cable are available to extend the throttle and controls. That will remain an unknown, unless someone who has performed this mod reads this and provides additional insight... I guess it can't be much different then some of the aftermarket handlebar risers. When do you plan on attempting the mod ??

Aftermarket...

there are several differant risers on the market wouldn't that be easier

Ive seen a few of those and they don't look as nice as what would be a stock design bar from a later model year... Just not into the aftermarket look !
