I am trying to find a CanAm address for the US because I need to send them a certified letter as I am filling for lemon law as the Spyder I bought has had nothing but issues since I bought it. It has lived in the shop more than I have had it at home. Please anyone that can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Wow!~ Sorry to hear that you're getting a divorce! I didn't know you were having that much problem with you Spyder. Hope you get things resolved. Will you need a LL attorney?

Sorry your having issues but here's your answer.

I have no problem with letting folks vent when they have a problem and we are here to support and help you any way we can. This is Spyder Lovers and the last post that I just removed was way over the top. If you're only here to bash BRP every chance you get then you need to find you another forum.

This was not directed at the OP but one of the replies. You know who you are and I sent you a PM.

Thank you that will help me. I am not bashing Spyders I really want them to make it right so I can actually use my bike this year. I am just hoping they help me. I dont think I could go back to a two wheeled after having my baby Spyder. lol I am definitely getting a different one if they just purchase mine back instead of replacing it. Thank you again. :2thumbs:

Good luck to one..thanks to the other..!!

Good luck with the claim I hope they make it right...Thanks Lamont for making this the great place that it is.. and your watchful eye.

 I'm sorry to hear that your Spyder's issues haven't been resolved.
The Best of Luck to you; please keep us informed!

I had a 2011 RT it was in the shop all summer of 2012. One day I sat down with the dealer and we had a talk. I now have a 2012 RT. Also when the :f_spider: was in the shop he let me use a demo. I love the dealer and the :f_spider:. So talk NICE to your dealer.

At this point in my "Life with a Spyder", my FIRST suspect is a crummy dealer, with high tech turnover. Try another dealer.

Hope you get the problem resolved.

However, we weren't provided with any detail (at least on this thread, and I am not asking for any that shouldn't be revealed); so we do not know the steps you have gone through to resolve your problem (other than it has been in a shop somewhere -- which is assumed to be the dealer you bought it from).

My first impression is that you seem to be having to fend for yourself on this issue.

That brings-up my second impression of you not having a very good dealer. As you know, the initial setup of a Spyder seems to be at the root of many problems if not done correctly.

I would be interested to know if you had made any attempt to see a different dealer; but am not asking you to respond to the question. Just wondered... that's all.

I had a few problems with my Spyder, and still have a few issues to deal with; but overall I still like it and will keep it. I was fortunate to have my dealer help out in correcting my problems, which were simply inherent with the machine itself -- not the setup.

Again, I hope you get this resolved. Please keep us informed...

REPLACEMENT

i hope they decide to replace it....
i've had my 2009 RS/SE5 for 3 fantastic years & 26,000 miles (or 28K, i can't remember)... and i'm here to tell ya, when they run right, they run right... i've NEVER has so much fun with a 'toy' than i have had with my SPYD3R... i've had Vette's, GTO's, 442's, Chevy SS (still have 1), Mustangs, etc etc etc etc etc... not to mention dirt-bikes & boats, and i'd trade all of'm for my SPYD3R in a New York minit.... so don't give up or give in, there's 1 out there with your name on it that will make you as happy as a New England clam in salty mud....
keep the faith my friend....

I would think that if you have exhausted all your efforts in trying to resolve this/these issues on your own, then perhaps rather than seeking help from others in this forum, you would get legal advice. You mentioned "Lemon Law" which I believe can vary from state to state. Bottom line your best bet, and I'm one to say this should be the last resort, is to hire a lawyer, and let him/her run with the ball. IMHO

From what I understand the factory does most of the setup and the dealer tech does final assembly and testing. The issues come up when if the factory didn't do the setup correctly and the tech does not have a clue. The customer gets the problem. Then when the bike gets returned to the dealer the Clueless tech rather than contacing BRP for help starts digging into the Spyder making thing more complicated. If the tech does not know what to ask or if he wont ask he can't get the help he needs. In any case the customer suffers. There really aren't any significant issues with this overly complicated motorcycle that usually can't be traced to poor dealer setup or service by untrained or unwise techs. Once in a while a system, like throttle bodies, the DPs or the gas cap have recalls (it is a very new design after all) but all in all there are many thousands of Syders running problem free out there. To the original Poster I hope that BRP steps up to the plate and resolves the situation for you and ensures that you have a great Spyder to ride for years to come like the majority of us! You paid your hard earned money and you deserve what you paid for!

I know the feeling

I was in your shoes with my Spyder when I first purchased. Before going the lemon law route, give BRP a call and get a senior rep. assigned to your case. All my issues were taken care of and I am a very happy owner with 11000 miles since April of last year. I think your issues may be at the dealer level as we're mine. I did not change dealers, but let BRP and the dealer work through the issues together. I also controlled my temper.
I have had a great deal of experience with attorney's due to several companies I owned in the past. In a lawsuit you are looking at years, money out of your pocket, stress and so on. And most likely you will lose because BRP has the deep pockets and will wear you down. Your life will be like this. :banghead::banghead::banghead: I'm speaking from experience.

Good luck to you, hope it turns out well. I know what it is to have a vehicle you love, but are completely unable to enjoy. I had a very similar experience with Indian Motorcycle (back in their Gilroy, CA days, 2 owners ago) but I got flamed by the forum for complaining, as though I were somehow responsible. Just after I filed my Lemon Law suit, the company filed bankruptcy, so not only no replacement, but no warranty either!
I'm not sure if this will make you feel better or worse, but since I bought my 2012 RS last May, I have not had a single mechanical issue, not even a hiccup ( pardon me for a moment -currently knocking on wood)! So, be assured once your issues with your current bike are resolved, there are lots and lots of good ones out there.
