• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Help! I'm only 5 feet tall!!!!

I don't want to wear my full face in the summer. But w/ the stock BRP shield and the taller one the air goes right through my glasses if I wear my shorty. Which windshield should I get - the CalSci or the CHAD. I sort of like the look of the CalSci better and thinking if I got the smallest of them (medium), this could work. The adjustable thing w/ the CHAD is cool but not sure I like the looks. I'm very short so I don't want to be looking through the windshield - I want to look over it.

I know there is a ton of info on windshields here and I'm slowly going through them but anyone prefer one to the other when it comes to CalSci and CHAD?

I am 4'10" and just got the CHAD and I love it! On the lowest setting I can see over it easily and can even raise it some. I get nice smooth air over the shield. I wear my full face year round, and with the CHAD I can leave the face shield up a bit and just get a nice breeze in the face. I also like the adjustability because my (much taller) husband can use it too. I like the looks of it too. It is very well made.

Hey there, stranger. You're right... the CHAD is a little weird looking but I use it for winter... function over form.

The CalSci mid-size is what I use other times of the year. Not quite as much coverage but certainly worthwhile.

Nancy is 5'2" and easily sees over the CHAD, even with it raised quite a way. I am 6'0", and can ride comfortably at the same setting. Granted, it isn't all that pretty, but it is not the ugliest of the bunch, either. It was supposed to be a cool weather shield for us, but it is fast becoming habit forming. It may find a permanent home. The adjustability is nice, because if you buy a fixed shield, and it tries to rip the helmet off your head, makes lots of wind noise, or buffets your head...you are stuck. With the adjustable shield you just move it around until it works best.

Looks like I'm gonna order the CHAD tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it during the week so I can start taking long trips again. I love the look of the sporty stock shield but I'm looking forward to my shorty helmet (no weight on my neck) this summer. I've got major neck problems and long rides are gonna kill me w/ that thing on my head. I order it from No Magic, right?

I ordered ours from No Magic. Came in a couple of days. May be available elsewhere, but Evan, Patti, and Jody have been so nice, I wouldn't think of going elsewhere.

I just bought my new spyder on Saturday, drove it home and love it! Anyway, Hubby is already modifying it to make it more comfortable for me, well that's what he says. Anyway, he ordered me a calci windscreen because I ma also only 5'. I like my size, my nickname is funsize. I will let you know how I like it. The windscreen it comes with is just a tease. It has been quite windy here as of late, and driving the spyder home was a bit challenging since I weigh next to nothing. I had fun though!

I like your nickname - funsize! Very cool! Let me know how you like your new shield. I'm going w/ the CHAD because HDX rides it too and it can be adjusted for both of us. I'm really liking the new BRP seat too that Lamonster posted. Enjoy your :spyder:!
