[BB1 Roadsta]

On the ride home the parking brake sign came on,
then a message started to scroll across screen saying
BRAKE FAILURE.Everything still seemed to work fine.
But message & park brake still showing. Can anyone
help?,going back to get with trailer.Update, purchased trailer & took
to shop.had no brakes,master cylinder was gone.Down for a while,to
order. Thanks to all for the helpful advice.(sad times)

low brake fluid

is most likely the problem. add a little at a time so you don't overfill. it shouldn't take much to turn the warning off.

I had mine throw up a brake failure a while back and it seem intermittent. I found I was about a tablespoon or two low on brake fluid and that was all it took to clear it up.

It sounds like low brake fluid. Easy fix. Check under the seat, remove the caps on the brake fluid reservoir, and top off to the fill line with brake fluid. As others said, usually 1 to 2 tablespoons will do it.

if all is working..park brake and brakes then yes probably you need to top off the brake fluid. You should pull the codes to see if there is something Indicating the problem..:gaah:

My '11 threw the code 01282 for months and it was finally discovered that a sticky rear brake pad was the culprit. A worn pad, still no where near worn out, will also throw the "faulty brake" signal.

Be careful with the brake fluid, if gets on the paint the eat into it and leave a mark. Cover all painted surfaces. That's IMHO.
