There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bob, I was an insurance man for 50 years, and do NOT lose any sleep over leaving my helmet and gloves on the seat while I go in and have a meal. Overnight, they come in with me.:banghead:
ES44AC, What make/size of full face helmet do you have that won't fit in the RHS pannier?
My XL Shoei GT-Air with the twin vents on top AND a Go-Pro base mounted up there, plus a bulky UClear intercom mounted on the side fits in the RHS pannier fine? Well, it's fine unless I try to put the helmet in with the faceplate facing the rear, anyway!! But if you turn the helmet so it's profile matches the taper on the pannier & then slide the helmet in facing forwards (top up or top down, duzn'matta just so long as the helmet's matching the profile/face forwards) it goes in easily.
Sure, there aren't too many full face helmets made that'll go into the LHS pannier, but that's due to the intrusion for the box that the earlier model Spyders stored their battery in taking up so much of the pannier space.... Now that the battery's get mounted up front & behind the frunk wall on the RT's made after 2012, why is that moulding still there?? If it wasn't, I could easily fit one full face helmet in each pannier, so that even when the missus was riding with me we'd have a safe & unobtrusive, lockable spot for the helmets and still leave the frunk space free to take all the extra fripperies & stuff she discovers & wants to bring home...... Hang on just a minute.... I might be a bit slow sometimes, but now I can see a reason why the moulding might still be there!! :thumbup:

You can store a fullface helmet in the right side compartment; jus lay it on it's side facing forward, with the open end going in first. :thumbup:

Peter Aawen- Shoei Duo Tech, Bob Denman- right on!! You can teach an old dog new tricks! Guess I was in shock, after so many years on a Wing and the capacity they have I was really down after reading the owners manual about the helmet hanger under the seat. Thought I would use those, boy what a joke they are unusable! My first Wing, '81 with Vetter bags and trunk had more space than the new Spyder. On another note, rode all day today. Love the mechanics (so far, all the problems on this site scare me!). Haven't run over 60 yet but it seems good. Brakes are great and love the se6 tranny! Thanks for all the info!

We typically use the frunk and right saddlebag but are considering lidlox for when those are full.

It was a GREAT bike!

Been riding since 1965. Never lost a helmet in that time. My usual is to put the helmet on the seat or hang it over the right grip.
When visiting a restaurant, we try to sit where the bikes are visible.
Overnight in a motel or hotel, the helmets go inside in order to charge up the communicators for the next day's ride.
With the :spyder2:, the frunk fits most of our Nolan brand helmets. Don't use that option very often though. Have never used the right saddle bag although I know that is an option too.
My current helmets are all timed out (over three years), but was holding off to see if I would be changing :ani29:'s. Wanted to be color coordinated with the new one. :roflblack::roflblack: Nope! No final decision yet. Health issues.

Just remember that it's hooked to a "plastic" fender; and that's only held on by a couple of small bolts... :shocked:
