• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

helmets

Firstly, I am surprised that nobody mentioned earplugs first before putting on a helmet. Get snug and comfortable fitting ones. They make biking so pleasurable on long distances. Seems to add a few mph also when you do not have to listen to all the wind.
Helmets,, For long distance and cool weather and any strong sunshine days, DUCHINNI D409 full face, with built in visor. That visor is just fantastic, every helmet should have one.
Short distances and hot weather, NITRO F346VN flip top.
No ear plugs for me. Then I couldn't hear the music or talk to my passenger. As far as wind noise, with the windshield on the RT in the up position it all gets blocked

I use the BRP ST1 :2thumbs:

&

the Nolan trilogy:thumbup:

I always ride with the jaws attached and either face mask up or off. I have Wiley X sunglasses with the foam dust protector in place ;)

I've got a silver Nolan N102 (sunshade outside and detachable). I love it!

Also run with a set of Etymotic Research 6i earphones and listen to my Inno or even just to cancel out any wind sounds.

BMW System 6

My riding gear is mostly BMW.
Some of the best quality around.
System 6 Full face flip up helmet with internal sun visor. (I need a flip up helmet as i'm forever going through security check points etc.

I tried the Shark Evoline. As has already been mentioned, this helmet is for riders who have a more round head rather than egg shaped. It is an excellent helmet and I wish it would have worked for me. I have it for sale in the classified section.

My favorite helmet is the HJC Carbon Fiber full faced. Very light and fairly quiet. Also scores high on the "bling" factor.

Second is the HJC modular with the built-in sunshield. HJC's are not very plush on the interior but are excellent helmets for the price.

Most recent purchase is the Scorpion EXO-900 3-in-1 transformer helmet in Neon Yellow. Very comfortable - plush interior. Although the jury is still out, I do like the flexibility of this helmet. The best thing about it is the color - wild looking but sure is visible at a distance! I have included a link to Utube below featuring this helmet.

The new EXO 900 Transformer looks like a great helmet! I haven't gotten any customer feedback on this helmet yet so it is good to know you like it.

I carry the Scorpion line of helmets as well.

For the EXO 900, Prices range from $239 - $246 Delivered anywhere in the Lower 48 states. This is a pretty good price for a great helmet.

If those prices include the EXO 900, they are good prices. I paid $273.00

I bought the EXO900 because I owned a 700 series full faced Scorpion a few years ago. It was the most comfortable helmet I've ever worn. I evolved toward the modular helmets waiting for Scorpion to come out with one. My preference would have been one that articulates like the HJC modulars but apparently Scorpion has decided to go the route of the transformer type.

The only problem I have with the EXO900 is that I have to stop and pull out the other portion of the helmet to swap out. Not a big probelm on the Spyder but I don't have room to store it on my Suzuki B-King. Also, you don't have a face shield (other than the pull-down sunshield) when it is in 3/4 mode which from experience I can tell you is no fun in the rain! Of course I only wear the EXO as a 3/4 helmet when I am on the Spyder around town or very short local runs in the extreme heat of summer. I am a full-face helmet proponent.

Yes, the prices qouted are for the EXO 900. I also have all the other Scorpion models as well, of course.
