• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Helmet Storage...

$20 for 2 pair of black handcuffs from Amazon and I just handcuff them to the passenger hold bars. Works great.

Ilove how y'all have all tehse great idea's for RT's but those of us with RS's don't have much. I have a bif melon XL RF 1100 Shoei and it is all that will fit in the Frunk. If iw try I can get my jacket in there with it. If my daughter rides with me we have to do something else with her helmet. I am liking the idea of attaching it to the passanger grab bar. I just need to find the best solution for that. By the way handcuff's look like a great idea but one key fits all( just throwing that out there.) thanks for some really good idea's in here guys, this is why I hang around and read.

the man that said use a gun lock is the least coast you get one with ever gun and they are free from most police and sheriff stations, yes free and there strong check it out.

Another idea

Go to your neighborhood fishing tackle and ask them to help you make a pair of miniature sling type cables you would have experiment on the length. Cable leader is plastic coated and they normally crimp them to make loops.

To use them all you should have to do is pop the seat loose. Insert a cable half a length thru the dee rings then hook both loops over the helmet hangers and shut the seat assembly.

a roll of cable wire, a bag of crimp sleeves if my memory serves me well should run about$10. And make you 10 or more cables.

Now that's a good Idea! :2thumbs:.
I always have something in the frunk and side bags. I can usually get one helmet in the frunk but if the wife is with me, and we are not pulling the 622, usually one of us will carry the hat, That's one thing great traveling with the trailer, just throw both helmets in there and still have plenty of storage space. I'm gonna look for some handcuffs.

Huh...my wife's medium RF 1100 fits in the right saddle bag of my RT. I've even put a 2XL in there twice, though it was a tight fit.

Helmet Storage

My wife and I have an 09 GS. I installed two of the Kewlmetal locks. Kuryakn ISO grips are a prerequisite which we already had. A little spendy, but what farkle isn't. Super clean though.

helmet lock

Have you seen the license plate bracket with 2 helmet locks on it? Twistedthrottle.com, works real well.

Some great ideas!

FYI I was not holding my tongue just right... I was able to get my wifes rf100 in the right saddle bag, and my monster xxl Qwest in the Frunk. I dont think I can get much else in there though...

I will still want something to secure them for touring since we dont have a trailer, the compartments will be full...

listen to me: more storage space than any other Touring bike, and I am still complaining :-)

Helmet Lock - dual.

So since I can only fit one helmet in the frunk, and can't fit the other in the rear compartments, I am curious about using the Helmet tie downs under the seat?

Seem like someone in the know would be able to snap that piece of plastic right off. Also since the strap is not long enough, whats the best helmet lock cable?

We purchased a new Can Am Spyder Limited in March 2013. I was very disappointed at Can Am's thought for helmet locks on those plastic tabs under the seats -- won't work for us. We bought a dual helmet lock that fits on the license plate (behind the plate) and it works well. It's called Helmet Guardian (http://www.ascycles.com/detail.aspx?ID=123530). Only issue is now you need to deal with another key....no problem for us as we keep it in the rear trunk which is handy when you need to unlock the helmets. We like keeping our other storage areas open for other things, not the helmets. Hope this helps.

My wife and I have the same helmet. Mine is an XL and her's is a M. I fit BOTH in the front compartment provided we have nothing else in there. Requires placing them in oposite (one facing up and the other down. Tight fit but it works for us.

My wife and I do the same thing with our Shoie Multitec helmets. First one in upside down and the second one right side up placing the bottoms of the helmets together.
