• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anybody tried installing on the Spyder, the wireless LED brake light kit for you helmet? If no one's seen this yet here is the web site: www.ridesafer.com (Wireless helmet LED brake lights . $59.95)
I also have a LED Blinking Safety Vest for night rides. Legal in Pennsylvania. (Non Blinking for the states)

Better to be seen by one, then carried by six!

These will not work on a Spyder as the computer will not "see" the LED tail light bulb because it draws so little current it will think the bulb is burnt out. It can also cause Check engine and Limp home mode problems as well.

Thanks I needed some positive reinforcement. Since I have to wait until my Red Spyder is shipped, I can't try it out yet. Maybe someone will try it before me and let me know if it works.

Product Detail

Not compatible with BMW motorcycles equipped with CANBUS and/or EVO systems. Not compatible with vintage positive ground motorcycles.

I don't want to rain on anyones parade but what about this statement? I know we aren't riding BMWs here, well except for Scotty ;D , but the Spyder does use a CANBUS system, right? I guess it doesn't hurt to try. The transmitter / black box system seems like it might not be any different than adding the Evoluzion brake light kit or NoMagicNeon's Triple Play as far as the electronics go.

I keep hearing (or reading rather) that a burnt bulb causes some sort of notification by the computer. I had a tail light burn out on my Spyder just two days after receiving it; actually it was just the running light filament in the bulb not the brake filament, and it caused no notification at all.

If it works, I'll import these from overseas and discount them big time for all Spyder riders!

Do anything to BOTH bulbs and the computer does react with a warning and limp mode. One out or changed will be OK. Now if you want to take and only run one bulb as an LED having it look out of place I guess you could? If you switch both over to LEDs the games will begin with the computer. This is fact not fiction. We having been trying for months to work around this computer problem so we could produce a High Output Genesis LED tail light. Mess with just one you're OK change both and its all bad.

Huh??? What did you say? Layman terms... So will it work or won't it?

What is the difference using a Bulb version, over the Hard wire version? Electical is not my cup of tea.

Magic Man,

Are you saying if both turn (rear) signal bulbs are replaced with LED's (as in the triple play) that this will cause problems

with the computer? I just installed my triple play last night. Hope I have not just set myself up for problems.

Danimal,

I'am hoping that is the case......it seems to work fine. I notice the 4 way flashers blink at twice the speed for

about the first 15-20 seconds, then slow to a normal flash rate. Anyone else notice this?
