• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

OK..I know this has been posted so many times already but I still can't get a clear picture about exactly what I should get when it comes to communications. I have never had a need for one since I had a sportsbike and travel too dang fast for anything else and it was all prior to bluetooth being invented.

So here are my requirements and nice to haves in system. I need to get something prior to the Gatlinburg trip as I can't spend 5 1/2 hours on a ride without being on the cell phone about work...lol. I have a full face helmet and the little women has the same.

Bluetooth to phone for inbound calls. I rarely call out.

Plug in MP3 player. I must have tunes while riding. I have MP3 players already mounted but hate the fact I have headphones with a cable that just comes out or I forget to put in when I put on my helmet. Passenger has thier own MP3 player.

Bike to Bike-Got to be able to talk to my other peeps I am riding with.

Driver/passenger-This is a must, it would make our couple rides so much better to be able to talk about what is around us and where to get something to eat..someone say porkchop..

Push to talk option. Not sure about this. I see many options for the PPT but generally with CBs or other devices. I want to be able to just talk really.

Wireless-the less wires I have, the better since I am alwasy getting on and off the bike.

GPS-Already have one..don't need to hear it, I can see it just fine when driving.

This is really it.
I have looked at:
BLUEVIRTU-seems great but must but a intercom system "I think for rider to rider or passenger" Seems like it is very flexible.

Cardo scala-rider Q2-No Mp3s or AUX pluggins. FM just does not do it for me, I want my music list

Cardo Scala Rider-Still trying to read the difference between this and the Q2.

IMC Camos BHS-600- Still reviewing this and have not looked at all the options.

AKE PowerCom-Not sure either

Chatterbox-I think this is all wiered.

Interphone Bluetooth Intercom-Again, just another one that I found on the web.

Again, thanks everone for thier feedback.

Well I think the closest you're gonna get to meeting all your requirements is going to be the Chatterbox XBI. It's wireless and will allow bluetooth connection to your mp3 player. My main preference for when I bought was to be wireless, the XBI wasn't available at the time so we went with the Q2's my solution to not having bluetooth music capabilities was to use an fm transmitter to get my tunes through the radio.

we just installed N CON in our Nolan N102 full face helmet we opted for Bluetooth many phone options available. its early yet but sound quality is good and battery life is 12 hours plus,

Which ones are actually Stereo?

+1 I remember reading that most bluetooth systems were not true stereo. If you can tell the difference (some can't) or if you really care (some don't), be sure it states it is true stereo for the music or you will be disappointed. I am one of those people who like their music to have the best sound quality possible and I would be annoyed to get only mono if stereo was available.

Anyone else have comments. Dtang, you know if you just passed on your good charity luck down to me, I would at least have something to start with for my long ride to Gatlinburg..hehe. JK

Where are you coming from on your trip? How long do you think it will take you to get there? Looking forward to meeting you and I am sure you can get started on a mod or two before you depart.

Dtang, sorry, I know I am a bit confusing..generally have at least 10 things going on at one time.
My comment was regarding your ebay item you have up there for the chatterbox...lol.
Mods around here are going very very slow due to other commiments to my money called the XWIFE.

Another option to look at... Collett Microfone 2

Have a look at the Collett Communcators microfone 2. This is All Wireless, bluetooth to phone, MP3, GPS, has A2DP - Streaming Stereo - is bluetooth to passenger and has 900mhz bike to bike for rider and passenger. I tried one a couple of weeks ago and it worked great, biggest problem was I had to sell it to someone desparate for one right now! They were introduced June so not many people know about them yet, but the one's I have sold have been well received by the customers. They go for $599 for a system of 2 radios.
Check them out at www.collettcommunicators.com

I have used chatter box for many years now, and according to all the requirment and specs that you describe. Chatter box will be your best option with bluetooth and easy communication with other rider.
