• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Heated underwear?

Back some decades ago in the last century and about 90 pounds lighter, I use to ride all year round. I had these Navy exposure pants that had zippers that went from the waist down to the ankles. They were warm. I had several layers on top. I looked like the Michelin Man. My gloves were thick insulated gauntlet gloves from HD. For my head, I had a silk balaclava which made a world of difference in warmth under a full coverage Simpson helmet.

Some of the clothing items are missing and the others don't fit anymore. That's why I'm requesting ideas for more practical clothing.
Thanks y'all!

I mostly wear performance longjohns, and layer over that, ending in good riding gear. There are a variety of good balaclavas available, and I have several fabrics and weights, inluding a couple of silk ones up to one with a polarfleece neck. I also have silk liners for my gloves and a wide variety of gloves...including the heated version. I seldom use the heated gear, but when it is real cold, it does an excellent job. My wife will use it at anything below 50. :D Consider one of BajaRon's Firstgear Thermo suits. I hear they do a dandy job. If I could get one in Tall, I would have one.

Awesome thread. Thanks, this is the information I was looking for, and I don't have to start a thread for it.

31 degrees as I rode out to go vote...
It warmed my heart as I cast my ballot!
And it warmed my heart even more as I started the RT up for the return trip! :2thumbs:

I am ryding with my snowmobile gear. You might want to go to Shade tree and check out the Choko snowmobile gear. It is also made in Canada and keeps you warm at speed.

My early cold weather riding gear was a snowmobile suit from Montgomery Wards (told you it was early). Warm and reasonably water/wind resistant. I have given it up in favor of heated touring gear from BajaRon. Good prices and it works great.
