There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Heated clothing - anyone know if 12VDC coax wiring is standard between brands?

I have a Firstgear jacket and pants liner but I need a DC Coax splitter cable to connect them together. I only have one controller and it will take care of them both. My questions is I want it NOW and ordering one would take till next week to get here. I've seen various brands of clothing, Gerbings, HD stuff and it looks like the same plug system and what I need is in stock locally. Does anyone know if the 12VDC coax wiring is a standard and interchangeable between brands or is everyone a bit different to lock in sales. I have no problem with Firstgear other than for me it's a wait for.

Thanks

All of the modern heated gear is standard. Go to Cyclegear, or any local MC shop and get a splitter. Or, use Amazon Prime and get it in a day or two. Hell, I have a half a dozen of them.

Thank you sir. I'll have to stop at a brandX store on the way home. But I will ride warm this weekend.

The jacket liner plugs into the power supply and the pants plug into the jacket liner. The controller controls both through the jacket liner. You should need nothing additional to power both with what you have already. Either that or there is something I'm not understanding about what you are trying to accomplish.

This is where jackets vary. I assumed his was a split system like my old Gerbing jacket. It needs a Y cable is you are running only one controller. Some jackets have this built in, some don't. It would be worthwhile to the OP to check if there is a pluggable junction block on his jacket to do this.

UPDATE: The needed 'Y' cable adapter is included with the Firstgear Heated Jacket Liner. It should be in one of the pockets or attached separately in a bag with retail tags, etc.

Thanks for all the reply's. The adapter cable was not included, I searched all the pockets and gear bags that came with it. In both of the jacket pockets where the wires stow the connector there and the one in the pants liner were the same , female, so they would not connect (except in San Francisco) :roflblack:. I found one at the local Honda shop and it was a 'Firstgear' one so problem solved.

Ron, I sent you an email last night about one but I won't need it now. As a bit of a recommendation if anyone wants to go with heated stuff Baja Ron is the guy. He got me really nice stuff at a very good price and much quicker than I thought it would get here. I rode it to the dealer day before yesterday (36*) and was actually warm with just the jacket on. Now I'll have both upper and lower heated along with the heated grips the dealer installed. (temperature in my driveway this morning was 22*) As long as there isn't any snow in the next few days I'll be riding. :ohyea:
