• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Heat from Radiator?

Shelley

Does anyone have a solution for diverting the heat from the radiator down? I have Kewl Metal highway pegs and my right foot is directly in front of the heat coming off the radiator. Very hot! Any suggestion?

What model of bike do you have? On home page check out Spyderpops banner, I will be ordering some of his products for my GS.

Fan can from Kewlmetal. I'm cheap, so I made my own from looking at what they sell. Worth it's weight in gold. nojoke

Welcome Shelley. There are a lot of posts on this subject....just do a search. Three options are available to you. 1) Live with it. 2) Buy a heat shield from Spyderpops (a vendor here on this site), as I did. 3) Make your own as several have done.

It is good if you post your model and year of Spyder on your signature and then we all know what model we can help you with. The RT and RS, GS, etc have same running gear but are very different design. See my signature below for an example. Again welcome...lots of good info here.

I'm not Shelly but I have the same question, yesterday I tryed to remove the plate on the bottom of the Can-am just behind the radiator. Black plastic plate that all I could see were 2 screws in the center, well I removed the screws but the plate didn't want to come away from the outside. Is there anything else holding this plate on ? Thanks Rick

Thanks for all the good info. I ride a 2010 RT Audio & Convenience. Orbital blue. Love, love, love it!
I will definitely check out the fan can and Spyderpops website.
Thanks,
Shelley

covered "both" openings

Hi
Used spyderpops cover then made my own for the bottom opening....awesome diference...need to remove bottom pan cover to release heat. Was concerned about covering both openings, but at 30+C here bike is actually running 1 bar cooler.Kewlmetal highway pegs awesome as well.
Oh yah...I also covered exhaust pipes with heat tape...didn't make a great deal of difference by itself.
