Hearing audio from my tablet into the communication system.

I like to go for a ride then stop someplace nice and watch a movie on my tablet (movies I save on the micro SD card). I want to be able to hear the movie through my communication system but not sure how to get this set up. I have a zumo 660 with the com setup. I also have an Iphone 6s if that is necessary.
Can someone describe to me how this is done, I was told it could be accomplished via the garmin.

I would think the garmin has to recognize the tablet's Bluetooths signal.
just like you link your phone to the garmin.

What type of tablet?

Are you using a true pic based tablet or an iOS device? Might be simple enough to have an external speaker for the device?

I have to admit, I have never thought, "I am really enjoying this Ryde, I think I want to stop for 2 hours to watch a movie!":roflblack: But different strokes for different folks. I would suggest that guy look at a Bluetooth speaker that you can pair with your tablet. There are a lot of great Bluetooth speakers with BIG sound, much better than your bike. Check out Bose! We have one and take it with us to listen to music when we are on the road!

I would connect the headphone jack of the tablet (using a 3.5mm audio extension cable) to the Auxiliary connector on the RT. Select the mode button for AUX and you will be able to hear the audio from the tablet through the factory speaker system.

My wife and I use a Bose Bluetooth Speaker for Audio to watch movies on the IPAD when we travel. A Bluetooth Speaker would be another option for audio and not require you to use your Spyder Audio system. The Bose Soundlink Speaker has great sound and will last a couple of hours on a fully charged battery.

Another option if your tablet has BT is to plug in an Apple compatible BT receiver into the iPod audio connector. Stream the audio from the tablet to the AUX input that way. I use a BT receiver to listen to Pandora on my phone while riding.

You should have received a cable like this with your Spyder that connects on the right side of the trunk. Select the Aux mode and you will hear audio through the factory Radio. If you brought you Spyder new and don't have this cable I would contact your dealer since this is standard with the RTS.

I have it working through my G9 bluetooth but I would like to be able to have it work through the communication system as well in the event that I don't use that particular helmet. I will have to play around with it some more, I thought the Garmin would be able to receive the audio just as it does with the phone.

i actually do the same thing, some times can be boring waiting for the wife to get out of the store lol. I use a bluetooth receiver plugged into the aux jack that i bought off amazon for like 15-20$ That way i can stay seated on the bike and still bluetooth it to the back. I also use it when i am just messing around in the garage to play movie audio. Here is a link, i read several reviews and just got one that everyone said was easy to pair since there is no screen it needs to pair itself which most of these do.

Yes, that is exactly why I watch the movies, waiting for the misses to finish shopping is one of the big ones, lol. So you plug the bluetooth adapter in to the auxiliary port on what, the garmin, the Iphone?

Mostly in the garage when im working on something but its handy everywhere. Into the aux port in the back trunk. Its a little 6 prong plug. The RT comes with two cables that plug into it, one goes to an overpriced and under performing Ipod/phone and the other just to a regular headphone jack. You plug the adapter into the headphone jack and you all set. The plug that comes with the RT is a make end so i had to buy a female/female adapter as well for like $1

I see, If you do it that way you can listen to music through the phone as well I imagine so you still have some control over the favorite list. Great idea, thanks
