• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Headlight upgrade

I recently posted a question re low beam staying on when high beam is on and from replies and talking to other Spyder owners in Oz, the norm is that low beam turns off when high beam is on.

Riding home last night low beam was dismal to say the least, I plan on trying to adjust the height to raise the beam of light up the road further as at the moment my vision ends at about 20 metres which makes it rather difficult. Switching to high beam provides plenty of vision however it's not always possible to have high beam on.

So my question, has anyone improved or upgraded their low beam and if so how?

Regards

John

If HIDs (xenon) are legal in Oz, I'd consider them. They are about the only option that truly casts more light from the same bulb configuration. Not familiar with the details of the Euro lights, so I couldn't recommend a particular bulb kit. You'll have to do some research or contact some companies.

I too have wondered about a headlight upgrade. Just the other day, an RT was behind me. It was about 1:30 in the afternoon, bright and sunny. The headlights and foglights on the RT were barely visible. They were just about completely washed out by the sunlight. They may as well have not have been on at all. I definitely want to upgrade to brighter bulbs or ad PIAA lights.
