Headlight Question

I'm having a problem with the headlights on my RT-S. It looks light I'm flashing my lights. Sometimes they look like they are flashing red/blue and sometimes it appears that they go completely off. People pull over and let me pass, some people :cus: flip me the bird. I had one person go NUTS on me. Took it to the dealer who said it is normal. BUT..while driving home from the dealer it continued and four people pulled over (again...one :cus: flipped me the bird).

The dealer told me that all Spyders do this and they said a BRP rep confirmed this.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is this normal?

It's the front end bouncing that makes it look like you're flashing your lights, I had it happen last weekend following a friend he pulled over thinking I needed to talk to him.

The colors come from the projector style housing, that gives a colored tint to the edges of the light.

Even with low beams, the headlights "dance" up and down as you drive. I have never had anyone flash their lights back at me though, so you're may be aimed a bit high.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is this normal?

Not mine, but I saw another doing this on the Spyderfest trip. Push down on the back of your spyder and see if the rear shock is soft and bouncy. If so, then that is where the bouncing is coming from and the rear shock needs stiffened up.

The projector type headlights on the Spyders will do this when they are aimed too high. Headlights are aimed at a specific setting, but different rider's weights, riding double, or different rear suspension settings can affect them. Adjust them down a bit and see if the problem goes away. BTW, I agree that you should check the condition of your rear shock. A bad shock will make the problem seem worse.
