Headlight install

I installed Lamonster LED headlights today and they are great! I did run into an issue though. On the left light, there are 2 caps on the back of the light that keep popping off and don't seem to stay in place. This leads me to a couple of questions before I screw the light back on:

• Do these caps have to be on? Will it hurt anything if I leave them off?
• Since they won't stay on their own, should I use silicone or maybe gorilla tape to hold them on?
• What are the caps for?

Any help is appreciated!

I believe those are the adjusters for aiming the light (up/down, left/right).... I would only worry about them being on there if you use water to wash the byke. Corrosion may be a problem down the road. But even then, how often does one really need to adjust their headlights....

With the help of a couple people on facebook, I determined that those are vent holes so the light doesn't fog. I used a little bit of glue around the edge of the caps and now they stay on just fine.

After having the new bulbs installed, the headlights are a bit too high. I think it's bad for oncoming traffic and the high beams are useless unless i want to see up into trees. Is there a way to adjust the direction of the beam. Could I use a washer and shim the screw at the top of the housing to get it to point a little lower?

The adjusters are under the top side panel you removed to get at the headlights. Small brass screws if I remember correctly.

I don't know that I really understand what panels I have to take off to access that adjustment screw though. It tells you sorta where it is and how to adjust it, but it doesn't say what you have to do to get to it. Not that I could find anyhow.

Headlight adjustment

You don't specify what model bike you have, so this may have change over the years. For the 2018 RT Limited, it's very easy. Remove the panel (see picture) Adjust the headlight by turning ( see picture).
