• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

headlight bulb

BULB

Instructions for changing your bulb should be in your owners manual. You should be able to find a replacement at any auto store. Remove your old bulb first and then read the numbers on it to find the right one, or someone may respond with the correct bulb #. I ride an F3 and the bulb is different from the RT.

Go to Lamonster Garage and buy some LED bulbs, They do not cost much and he has a video on how to change them. I just did mine and payed a little over a hundred and they are much better than the OEM bulbs.

I will look into that, I would like to know what panels to take off, the book is rather vauge and hard to read, very dark copy........

Watch the Lamont video instructions. If not for the video I would have been lost. Watch it several times. The left light is more difficult to change due to the cramped space. And Yes the LED setup Lamont has for sale are fantastic lights and you would never have to change them again.

The below link takes you to another video and between that and the Lamont instructions are end all of "how to" videos.

For what it is worth the replacement ID for the LED for the headlight on a 2014 RT is "9005" and for the fog lights it is "H8". It really completes the deal if you change out the fog lights at the same time. The resulting curtain of light is awesome ...

I did mine Monday and took off way more than I needed. basically you take off the upper panels, mirrors and the panels on the front around the lights. there are 4 bolts you need to get to undo the whole headlight assembly. once its off you can take the bulbs off from the back and install the new ones according to the video. Its fairly simple. Put the bulb in, clip it on, put the rubber boot on, screw on the black thing thing that looks like it has cooling fins, then connect the wires. They are very high quality bulbs and will not only let you see better, you will be seen better.

One thing I did that he did not mention was to zip tie that module that has the Lamonster logo on it. I found just the right place and zip tied it on so I would not have it bouncing around in there. Each headlight has one.

Took your advice and ordered them today................

Farm n Fleet. Two 9005 bulbs, "Sylvania brite white", for $30. Much better than the yellowish stock ones. Changing them is a bit time consuming, but be patient. Oh, I have a 2010 RT....you may need something else, sorry.

All RT use 9005 lamps.

I second, or is it fourth now, the recommendation to replace with Lamonster's LED headlamp.

will it fit

I looked on his sight but his instruction video looked like he was replacing the entire headlight, I just want to replace my burnt out bulb. If I just buy the LED bulb will it fit into the existing space? The other Video seemed to be easy if you just replace the old one with the same type.
Any suggestion to help me?

His LED bulbs are a direct replacement for the OEM bulbs. You just remove the bulb and replace it with Lamonts bulb, although his bulb has more to it than just a light bulb. It is made just for our spyders though. Nothing else to buy. You do need to remove the entire headlight assembly to get to it though.

In my case he does not have a video of doing it on an ST. The video I saw has him doing it to an F3. You have to watch it and what other videos he may have to get the idea. They just give you the highlights. You need to watch them, study the threads on the subject, the owners manual, and the service manual to figure it out. dont get in a hurry, take your time you will figure it out. I started out aproching it all wrong before I stepped away and saw that most of the work is done from the front. I was trying to come in from the back.

I pretty much had the whole dash taken apart including the center electronic console, and trying to remove the speaker boxes before I gave up and went back to the videos. I tell you this so you dont do what I did. Then after the whole job was done I had lots of screws left. I took it apart again and found where I left them out. nojoke
