Heading south for the winter

Trying to figure tie down locations for the Spyder. Trailer hooked up behind my 5th wheel, leaving for the Texas Hill Country for the winter next week. Cant wait no more snow for me.

A strap through the rims of each wheel is shown in my operators manual on page 111. You may want to consider a wheel chock behind your rear wheel on that trailer as well. It looks like it couldn't roll forward any further but may rock back a little.
Just my thoughts.

I agree but put something soft under the strap on your wheels so you don't scratch them.

so far I plan to put a ratchet strap through the rear spokes and anchor it towards the front to suck the Spyder to the rock shield. Have not decided on the front yet. Do not want to screw up the alignment.

Have you thought about a tight-fitting T-shirt on the windshield? Might have to tack it at the bottom somehow, to keep from losing it to the wind.

I put on some 10mm SS lifting eyes nuts on my wife's Spyder for trailering. I took off the bottom bolts on the front shocks, and turned them around, and then put on the lifting eyes with locktite on them. Works awesome. Gives a solid place to put tie straps on, and it won't mess up the alignment.

The rear wheel is easy; through the spokes, and back to the rear corners of the trailer.
The fronts wheels look a bit problematic. I think that a set of locking wheel chocks is your best bet. :thumbup:

First off the owner's manual states how to do it. That being said, three straps will have you coverd, one for the rear wheel, and one each for the front wheel, DO NOT FORGET to put a cloth or towel or something to avoid scratching the rims. BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT. Safe journey and pleasant weather. Wish I was with you.

Dont forget, if your running a strap through the rear wheel do NOT run the strap through the procket, wheel only.

Its called a drop tail trailer no ramps the back half drops down. Its the only trailer that would work for me keeping me at 65 ft, max length you can tow.

Sounds great! Kerrville isn't exactly in the center of the Hill Country but is a great place to start rides. Lots of good restaurants at least.
