• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Head lights

As others have stated the beams appear to be "misaligned". What I've noticed is BRP deliberately aims the lights too high and focuses both beams into a single point, as motorcycles do, rather than 2 separate points as on car headlights. I'm sure they do it to increase the visibility to other vehicles, but it creates other problems.

What I did on my 08 was re-aim the beams. I lowered them slightly and changed them to aim into a separate pattern, right and left, as in an automobile. It made a big difference at night. Also, during the day I always run with the high beams on and it seemed to decrease the annoyance factor because the lights were aimed properly in the first place.

Also, thanks to Mr. Thorne for the excellent explanation of the shutter system. ;)

UPDATE: I am now a believer. Have been running high beams on both :ani29:'s since my last post here.

I am not getting that annoying flashing when akspyderlady rides her :spyder2: behind me. Have seen many LEO's approaching me. No issues with them flashing me or worse.

Also no flashes from other oncoming vehicles. Don't know about night time visibility with the high beams--since it does not get dark at night here during summer season. I am not going to be out riding at 3:00 AM.
