• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Head light question

I have noticed while riding that if you hold down the flash switch you get all four lights come on and it gives a better spread of light on the raod ahead. Has anyone modified their spyder lights so that all four lights come on when you hit the high beam switch. If so any info on how to do this mod would be much appreciated.

All four lights??? There are just two headlights unless you have the fog lights. High beams and low beams are the same bulb. There is just a shutter that drops down to create a low beam effect.

Euro Spyders are different, they use all four bulbs, two high, two low.

OK, it seems that different countries have a different setup.
My :spyder2: is an Australian model. The bottom lights come on as low beam (on all the time the motor is running) When you hit the high beam button the two bottom lights go off and the two top lights come on.
If you hold down the flash button you get all four lights at the same time.
The spread on the road is much better with all four lights on tegether but its a pain to ride with your  holding down the flasher switch for long.

The Oz Spyders are like the Euro bikes, then. I wonder if they had worries about the amp draw if all four burned at once, or if there are laws that prohibit that pattern. It seems like a good enough idea on the surface of it all.

welcome:congrats: HID install from NMN (Magicman) will make one big difference all the light you will ever need and you won't have to worry about switching or holding down switch anymore :ani29:

Thanks for the info.
I have thought about fitting the HID lights but the cost seems very high for brighter lights. Has anyone found a good alternative. (The BRP kit is over $2000AU). I will check out the cost of the MNM kit. (thanks roaddog2 :2thumbs:)
