• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HD Death Wobble

Me too. I've been occasionally looking around for a great deal on a Ulysses. I'd like to have one of those.

BTDT - it had the best suspension of any bike I've ever owned! It also had enough heat to melt my pants or cook a meal. I sold mine with only about 5,000 miles because of the heat issue. Otherwise I was very pleased.

I'm no real big fan of Harley... I love the looks , but not the feel... :gaah:. A lot of you seem to think that they invented this "Death Wobble"... they didn't! Nor are they the only manufacturer that has to deal with it. ANY motorcycle loaded to beyond its designed capacity or pushing the tirees that its got wrapping the wheels too hard can do this dance... :yikes:
I think that Harley "owns" the heavyweight market. Only Honda seems to want to play in that rarified air with their 'Wing. Does YamaZukiSaki even make a big tourer anymore? (I really don't know!) Since they've got the biggest target to throw things at, they get the most bad press and attention.
So lets puleeeze stop bashing Harley and be thankful that we've got Spyders that don't do the Death Wobble!

If anyone thinks this issue is only one for Harley... Well is just silly.

How many times have we seen Race Bikes on the track do this. These are finely tunes machines with some of the best riders in the world on them. It just happens.

Just like reverse Trikes on Downhill windy roads... Eventually their issue shows up...

This has happened to me on just a few bikes I have owned. Sometimes in a small amount, very few times in a "Wholly Crap" amount...

Man made = "If it can happen it will"

I had a friend that had a Honda Magna V65. He installed a small after market windshield on it and when on a 3000 mile trip with his brother experinced a front end wabble when a truck back wash hit him. We he returned from his trip he was to get married. He was returning from work on I55 near Lagrange Il., going west. A truck wash hit him and the bike went out of control. He went down, killing him. They had the lunch after his wake in the same hall that was reserved for his wedding day. Some front forks were not designed for add on wind shields. A lot of riders run way over weighted whill touring. Just a thought. Also I really was turned off with Harley Davidson when they threatened to leave Milwaukee if the union workers did not except their contract witch had a 7 year reduction in pay in the contract. The Bears did the same thing in Chicago to get a updated stadium. I say let them go! I hate to be threatened.

They've made some pretty big changes in recent years... Give 'em a little credit! :D
Harley's biggest issue is that what has worked for them for so very long... (a 45 degree pushrod V-twin) is now perhaps the millstone around their necks! How do they keep the good, modify the bad and keep the same appearance and feel? All of this without alienating their core audience while still attracting new members to the fold... it'd drive you or me NUTZ! :gaah:
I'm a fan of all bikes and riders! :2thumbs: Each has their own strengths and weaknesses, and nobody is perfect...
