• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Having some issues the dealer is creating for me ...

and it's beginning to annoy me big time. I've begun my mods on my Spyder with chrome installs. Had the foot peg support castings replaced with chrome (that grey tupperware at the bottom on either side), picked the roadster up, jumped on and took off. Thought all was well until brake lights wouldn't go off unless lifting the brake pedal straight up OR mashing it down rather hard. Had to do this every time after getting the Spyder back whereas before, the brakes were working perfectly and just as they're suppose to. Returned the Spyder, dealer fixed problem, everything fine. Dropped my Spyder off again at the same dealership a couple of weeks later for more mods (exhaust tip/heat shield and handlbars replaced with chrome) and just got it back this past Saturday. Was riding it Sat. and Sun., stopped to tank up for gas, couldn't lift the seat. No problem with the seat before the mods! What happened? Took it back to the dealership and was told the Service Tech forgot to reconnect the cable that runs to latch on seat. Had to let dealership have my Spyder again!!! I was told it would be ready in one day. Called yesterday, they said it was ready at 5 pm. Called at 6 pm just to make sure, after work, that it was ready and was told to hang on so they could double check. Hung on for a bit, Service Mgr. came back to the phone and said, "No, it's not ready. They made a mistake. The cable was, in fact, actually broken and a new cable would have to be ordered and installed. The new part has to come from Canada and I wouldn't get my roadster back until Friday evening or Saturday morning!!" Man! Talk about inept!!! Talk about, not knowing what you're suppose to be doing! I've not had one problem with the roadster (2012 RT-S SE5) until they starting installing mods on it. It went into limp mode once, but I had been riding the brake while with a group of Spyders going up the interstate to Helen, but that has never happened again. I'm ultra aware of shadowing the brake now. The 2 times I've given the dealership my Spyder, it's had to go BACK for repair and THIS TIME they have NO IDEA how the cable was broken that trips the latch on the seat. I do. I have a really good idea. I've GOT to find a new dealership with a better Service Department. At this point, I have more mods planned but I'm sick of making 2 trips for each mod they do. I'm not naming the dealership, but would like to know if any of you have had the same inept service OR should I start learning to do my own mods?

I hate these situations. It's not like a common car dealer where you can find one in every other county. Spyder dealers can be separated by 100 miles, and we all pray that our local ones are mediocre (at least) to deal with, so that we don't have to drive across the state!

:gaah:Sucks; don't it? :gaah:
I'm also thinking that you'll be finding yourself a new dealer... SOON! There's farkling to be done in here!! :ohyea::yes::ohyea::yes:
Good luck!

Sorry for your problems

I feel bad your having so many problems with your dealer. I'm lucky I have Robert's as my dealer and have no concern on maintenance or add on's. Kyle, Nancy, their Dad and Mom have been more than happy to add on to my wife's RT and explain the benefits other add on's. As in all businesses nothing is free, nor do I expect it to be. If you come up to SITA next year you'll be able to meet the best dealer, and hopefully beat the rain.

Just out of curiosity, who is your dealer? Maybe others have had similar experiences and can recommend a better dealer.

Man, love the avatar. Scrat makes the Ice Age movies.

I'm curious, why dont people like to name dealers when they have problems with them? Are they worried about the dealer seeing the posts and really screwing up their Spyders? I've seen a few posts about crappy service and the dealer wasnt mentioned.

Good question. I believe in namimg names if it is warranted. The dealer should be given a chance to fix it right if needed. Those dealers that blow customers off or just can't get it right after repeated attempts are the ones I like to hear about.

Giving a dealer a bad reputation before they have a chance to fix things is something I am not in favor of.

Bingo ...
