• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. HAVING C.B. INSTALLED ON 2014 RT LIMITED QUESTION??

I called my local dealer and they couldn't find part #214400532, 2014 CB/Comm System. They will call BRP tomorrow and see if and when it's available.

TYPO ERROR - PART# 219400532 is the correct number and became available 11/21/13.

The 2014 accessories catalog states that the Entertainment Harness for "Spyder RT 2014 and prior" is part number 219 400 439. :dontknow:

The catalog also says the CB is for 2013 and prior, that's why I contacted BRP. Today, I received the above info specific to the CB/comm for the 2014 RTs.

CB

I had my dealer in Washington contact BRP to see if my CB could be moved from a 2011 RT to a 2014. They stated that it could but need to purchase 2 items total cost under $200.00.

Yesterday, I ordered the CB/Comm System, Entertainment Harness, and the Cellphone Interface Cable for my 14' RTS.

Are you going to install the harnesses or have a dealer do it?

I would love to have detailed pictures of the connectors especially the one that goes into the radio.

Well, my new CB Comm System was almost completely installed. The DIN harness for the driver's headset is missing. The dealer will contact BRP on Monday and hopefully BRP will expedite shipping the dealer the missing harness. Looking forward to the three chapter Spyder Ryder group ryde tomorrow, even without the CB Comm System.

Did you also order the Entertainment Harness? It is necessary to install the CB/Comm system or the XM.

Yes. The entertainment harness is different for the 14 as well. They had an extra driver DIN harness for a 13 but it doesn't have the new connector. Life happens. I will bring it back with the missing harness arrives.

CB radio update kit

You actually don't have to remove the trunk if you don't want to. The new entertainment harness (#219400534) is longer and can be routed around the front of the trunk area and zip-tied.

Looks like the '14 CB is smaller than the previous one, or bigger so it has to be mounted vertically instead of horizontally, hence the need for the brackets and the harness extension. Does the new longer entertainment harness preclude the need for the extension harness in the kit? Wonder if an older CB and harness would work. Just because they update a part doesn't always mean the older one won't work.

I read a thread on here that if you get the update kit and the new entertainment harness, you can use your old CB radio. The instructions in the new CB radio kit is the same as the old one I had from 2010. However, the update kit is included in the box. Next time I have the panels off I will get the part number that is on the CB radio.

It will install without the 10" extension harness adapters, but it's tight.

I elected to use the extension adapters to prevent strain on the wiring harness.

The CB/Intercom System was finally installed Thursday. I also did the additional grounds and snap RF chokes that SpongeBob recommended. I haven't had a chance to test the CB, but my wife and I did test out the intercom on a ride today. This is how it went:

Col. Jessep: It's that simple. Are we clear?
Lt. Kaffee: Yes sir.
Col. Jessep: ARE WE CLEAR?
Lt. Kaffee: Crystal.

The intercom was amazingly clear, CRYSTAL clear in fact. Extremely happy with the new BRP CB/Comm System. Nothing like my CB/Comm on my old '10 RT.
