• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

At 65+ on the freeway, three miles from the dealer, following the mandatory update. Took three attempts to upload the software before the Spyder would go more that a couple of miles - since then, it's been fine.

This sounds more like installation process errors than something wrong with the Spyder. Sometimes 'Tech's' learn by trial and error rather than reading the proceedure manual.

Sometimes the way you do it is as important as what you're doing.

Having years of experience with software installs I can say that there are times when seemingly stupid, meaningless steps can be critical. Skip them or do them out of order and you can get nasty issues.

:agree::agree::agree:

Have had to deal with the aftermath of a $100,000 part locking up due to missed/skipped steps (intentional or otherwise) too many times.

While taking it home after the first update it went into LM with a DPS error message. Brought it back to the shop, they cleared the error code, off I went towards home and BAM, went into LM again at the same place, about 5 miles from shop. Came back, they called Canada, apparently they reformatted the computer. No problem since.

Thanks everyone for the great replies.

I read some of you mentioning about "clearing the codes" once the Spyder goes into LIMP mode.....

So, once the Spyder enters LIMP mode, what exactly is required to get it back up and running normally again?

Does EVERY LIMP mode event have to follow a visit to the dealer??? Or can you fix some things on your own? I guess you can fix some of the things to make the sensors go back to sleep; like replacing a bulb for example.??

Thoughts/comments?

thank you in advance.

Sounds like your Spyder wanted to go home a different way! :D
