There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Have the alignment procedure memorized and ready to do them.

Tonight I perfected my knowledge of the 2013 ST and 2013 RT. Like everybody else that is doing them I can do any year and make of the Spyder.
I have even mis-adjusted mine on purpose and and then brought both back to perfection.
My BUDS will be here this week and I will be ready to take on some alignments.

Just letting everybody know where I am with it. Also I will be available this weekend if anyone wants to have theirs done.

And thanks Lamont for the tip. It really helped me get a grip on the whole procedure.....

:congrats: on being one of the alignment specialist doing this for us. I wish I were closer to you. Good luck on your new adventure. :2thumbs:

Great news! I have a question. If I need new front tires and want to get an alignment done should I wait to get the alignment until after I install my new front tires?

I would recommend setting an appointment for the new Laser Alignment then get your new front tires just prior to that appointment. Minimum driving distance recommended.

You can get the Laser Alignment before new tires too.

Badly worn tire may not handle as well as new tires.

I've learned a lot on this trip and pretty much have it down now and understand the concept thanks to Mike and some hands on experience.

That's what happened to Norm and I at Lake George...what we thought we knew about Spyders changed, we found that different rim castings are a different thickness, we found that the hub width varies from model to model, we found that toe changes as the rider steps on the bike...we learned a ton and want to share those tips and tricks will ALL of our Outlaw / ROLO Dealers.

All of us want the same thing: a perfect handling Spyder and excellent tire wear…is that too much to ask ? I think NOT

I have an appointment at Blackmans in Emmaus PA. This Friday. They said that they have only done around six alignments with your system. Do they have enough experience?

BLACKMANS BRP DEALER

RBS66

Most BRP dealers are BRP certified which means you may get a very qualified tech that knows a lot about alignment ...this is what I would ask when you drop your Spyder off.

I do care about what my "pre" measurements were BUT what I really want to know AFTER THE LASER ALIGN IS FINISHED is what is my overall finished TOE measurement ...

Remember you have two issues going on. #1 the front toe AND #2 the front toe being square to the rear wheel

#2 is the first problem they will take care of "easily" ...but to do a complete laser alignment they HAVE to do #1 also , some feel you can skip this step but I say no way

Remember in-accurate TOE EATS TIRES ...when your Spyder pulls out of the service area you should have 1 " to 1 1/4 " of toe in

The owner is Steve if he has any questions please tell him to call me. 386-427-8522

Owners should note that this number is only used with the Outlaw system. The BRP procedure uses different lengths and measurement points, so their numbers are not the same. Do not insistm that a dealer using the standard procedure uses these measurements or you will have serious problems. Just a little clarification for those that may be confused.

RIDERS SCOTTY is CORRECT those measurements are ONLY if they are using the OUTLAW/ROLO laser alignment system...THEY ARE NOT BRPS...DO NOT BE CONFUSED

Messed around today and noticed how much different you can make the steering by just adding toe and removing toe. This is really pretty darn neat. I have my toe on my ST set abut 1/2 inch more than what is recommended here. I love the way it holds the bars centered aggressively. It makes the bike have to be (pushed) out of the lane. Better for me at 90mph when jumping out to pass on a two lane highway. I also brought it back out to normal and it is a much looser (but normal feel). This would be for a more relaxed ride. It transfers from one lane to the other more gracefully. I like the firmer feel so that is what I am sticking with. I don't even care about the tire wear. It cant be as bad as the almost 3 inches it was out before. And it was all on the left side I might add.

I probably will ride this weekend and make sure i am actually happy with it. Also need to make sure the steering motor is happy with my aggressive toe.

So if someone wanted a slightly firmer steering and entering affect it can now be accomplished. This is why I like having new tools.

I think to be honest and if you're going to do it right 100% you should check your toe and your steering angle sensor and torque sensor. That would require BUDS so really one should go with the other don't you think?

First, you can tow with your vehicle or you can set toe on the front end. Lol

Second, by saying you can adjust to someone's ride preference is fine for extreme cases such as my car I run at a track has settings I would never use on the street. But to me, the reason the Outlaw system is gaining popularity is the fact that you can set tried and true perfect alignment? Right?

I don't see it very wise to come on here and say you have a better way after all the work done to gather numbers to make the system what it is? Not to sound harsh, but it's as if the student thinks he's better than the master? :dontknow:

Blackman's for Laser Alignment

Let us know how it goes. How much Tom, Jason and Dana are on top of it. Steve owns it, John manages the dealership, but Dana is doing the work on your Spyder. Along with several other tech's but Dana is the lead on Spyders and I'm guessing is the one who does the Laser Alignments. I'm going in next Tuesday so I'd be interested in your feedback so I know what to expect.
