• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone wondered if? Just putting it out there

Scotty,
If we ever end up with a President who's into riding and repairing older motorcycles; you might end up on his speed dialer! :thumbup:nojoke

Was just a passing thought. In the age of computers you just never know what could happen. These days companies are tracking just about everything you do including all social media. If you've noticed, these days when you're on line searching for something other related items will pop-up out of no where this is supposed to make things easier in most cases it does. It also means all your actions are being tracked in order to build a profile so marketing companies can target market to you. As for the big three or not so big three I have never owned a foreign car. We have always bought American. However, that will change next time I'm ready to purchase a new vehicle.

You just described what happened this past presidential election.

Yep and don't list any wild warranty altering add on's in your signiture. ;)

who was that in the Black Van with a video camera at Spyderfest at the drag strip anyway?? Thanks Lamont for drawing their attention away from the rest of us with your burnouts

being picked on

well b4 everyone starts on me just let me say OUCH. but i do believe it is possible for them to pick on someone. i for one am a person that will cut my nose off to spite my face, it is my Italian temper. i have gone off the this Steve m from customer support but i have been very nice with the dealer. when i wrote about my concerns about the heat issue and i got back very silly answers i did get mad. than when i was told he spoke to my dealer and he sent the parts for the fix over night only to find he didn't call the dealer or send the parts i went off on him again and went to someone above him in brp with copies of all my e mails from him.

so here i sit with a bike with no repairs and a frustrated dealer that wants me to be happy but has no parts to do the recall. so yea i do feel i caused my problem but i don't regret it. i got it off my chest and spoke what i feel.

agree

"As you sew; so shall you reap." :dontknow:

i totally agree pal but how long can someone sit and be told one thing and have it never happen. when mom was sick i kept my mouth closed with everything that she was being treated with, yes i questioned what was going on but i would check when i got home with my doctor and he would tell me what i should say to them. but that was because mom was a person but with my bike or car, it's that old saying DAM THE TORPEDOES FULL SPEED AHEAD!!!! i have a big mouth and i use it very well. now with my dealer i have been very nice to them, they have sold one of my bikes for me and i have a few friends that deal with them so i just give them room to work with. but with brp i really don't care i speak my piece, there are a lot of people in this world that get :cus: on but not me. unless your a friend or family i say what i think.

I have always taken the "poker game" approach to conversations with folks that I don't know...
I'm always polite, I NEVER let them know what I know, I verify everything that I'm told, and I believe nothing...
But I'm always polite... until I drop the hammer with undeniable evidence that there have been shenanigans going on that will be stopped; immediately! :gaah:

They do read it. I can confirm this. I don't think they "blackball" anyone.

I asked the person that handled my case at the owners event if she read the post and she confirmed it. I had already apologized to her on the phone after they handled my problem but I felt the need to do it in person again.

I had a even stranger problem than some due to the dealer passing bad information back to BRP. And I was the one that discovered there were bad shocks on the 2013 RT. Also had 2 dealers say they aligned the bike and tell BRP that it was perfect. And once one dealer had the guy that does the demo rides on the semi truck come by and ride it. He also reported back to BRP that it was perfect.

This makes it tough to talk to a customer service representative and explain that you still have a problem.

What I did find out is that the spyderlovers site does have some pretty powerful people on it and if you are patient and want the bike fixed they will get you some help.

I finally did get some help and found that the bike was 51mm out of alignment. Yes that is 1" on each side. It was so bad that i could visually see it. Also I had shocks that were very weak. I believe that is what brought attention to the shock problem for others.

Again, they don't read every post I'm sure. But I'm sure their are people that filter out post and pass on other post. I have seen many post since mine where people were having problems and then they seem to stop posting. You ever wonder where they go? Probably got there problem resolved and are riding now.

Sent from my Galaxy S3. I may have made a spelling error or may have some grammer issues. My fingers are way to big to type on this tiny screen!

Thanks for the confirmation! I agree the forum is a good place for all of us to exchange ideas and solutions. It would really be nice if BRP would just admit the 2013 exhaust routing should have been done better.

:dontknow: What would "admitting" anything accomplish? They've already have a process in place to try and alleviate the heat issues... :banghead:
Would you be okay with a public flogging of the President of the Company, or are you holding out for a public beheading?

I was really looking forward to riding my Spyder to the Beheading but then realised until the Govt shutdown is over it was one of the activities affected and is shut down."Oh well I guess I will just have to go and ryde The Dragon yet again":roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::gaah::gaah::joke:

I think? what he may be saying is...let's say you post on the forums that you put a cat bypass in, then a week later you burn a valve, so then you put your cat back on and take it in for warranty work. The dealer says sorry, but BRP has proof that you put a cat bypass on your bike and it was probably the cause for your defect and they deny coverage.

Just an example, but what if?

A warranty is a warranty.

BRP has proof? A posting on SpyderLovers isn't proof of anything. Most folks are smart enough to use noms-de-plume (pen names) such as Snoopy or Mouthpiece.

There are a few brave exceptions, aren't there, Bob? :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
