• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone see this accessory for a spyder before?

I have...

Not on any spyders but online. I see from the posting they sold 43 already. Looks nice but would cover up my grille :banghead:

BRA'S

..........Don't leave them on for too long after they get wet....they can stain your Paint....Mike

Hi Johnny
Dave here, your order is on the way...
The bra you are showing on ebay is not anything new, they are best used
when the front of your spyder has a bunch of rock chips and you want to hide
them and not paint it. I have made hundreds of bras over the years they used to
be sort of a fashion statement. What they do is trap dirt and grime under them and
also dampness and after leaving them on for a while they will remove your paint
or scratch the paint from the dirt under them and the wind blowing on them....
If you want a bra for the front of your Spyder you can buy clear plastic that you can
put on and it is almost invisable but it works great. Most people who do window tinting
have it and can install it for you, it's like heat shrink... it is stretched over the front and heated
with a heat gun and then allowed to cool and conform to the shape it is on....
Good Luck
Dave

Was on Ebay and ran across this:

Not sure how it would work out.

Ditto what motorcycledave and others said. Don't see many of these on cars any more for the reasons mentioned. 3M clear bra or similar is the way to go.

I can tell you first hand that Motorcycle Dave is correct. Years ago, I had one of those on a car that I used to tow behind a motor home. I thought it would protect the car from dirt and grit that the motorhome kicked up from the road. BAD idea. :sour:

BRA-LESS

I've been thinking about the clear protecting material too. I had a ST1100 that I bought a kit for and it worked well saving the bodywork from scratches. Don't remember where I got it though. Anyone making a pre-cut kit for the Spyders? I'd be a buyer.

I bought one for my RTL last year and picked it up at Spyderfest. It looks real nice on my "white" Spyder and there's been no issue with the finish.

i agree it looks pretty good on white, which is what i have, but im more curious about this clear wrap or whatever its called, anyone have any pictures or more info? then i assume you can eventually peel it off to reveal your perfectly preserved paint underneath or re apply a new clearcoat?

Difficult to show pictures of the clear because it is hard to see even in person let alone capture on camera. Try doing a search for 3M clear bra or Clear 3M wrap. There are other makers too.
It will come off with a heat gun and does not damage the paint.
Many car dealerships have arrangements with after market suppliers that put it on new cars prior to delivery. Some car makers do it themselves. Friends just bought a new Nissan Murano and Nissan had it as an option. I have it on my BMW and had it on a prior one. Even put it on the plastic style headlights which protects them and makes them much more resistant to rock damage. Been around now for many years with good results. Find a good installer.

Doesn't work for me

Won't work with KOTT Grills

Cruzr Joe

I bought this before I had "Angel Too" re-wraped and didn't realize it wouldn't work with the wrap. I also didn't know that it wouldn't work with my KOTT Grills. So now I have a brand new bra and can't use it.
