• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone installed one of these?

First time I've seen one. Looks like it would get a lot of water on it when it rains. I took some heavy duty wire and attached it to the battery. Caped it off and layed it under the seat on our 2011 RT. That way all I have to do is raise the seat and umcap it and hook jumper cables to them.

Dont see the need. How often do you plan to jump start your Spyder? For the once in blue moon you need it, just remove the battery cover hatch.

Jumping the battery is not a common event.
So maybe the need for this is not great.
There sure would be a benefit to having this rather than removing the frunk on an F3 to access the battery though.
As far as water getting on it-so what. It is covered by the plastic cap seen in the pics. No water will get on the plug.
I guess if you are planning for every "worst case" this isn't a bad idea.

I don't know if it is possible, but can the battery be jumped from the remote terminals in the left side (from the riders perspective, right side if you are looking into the frunk) of the frunk that are under the black plastic cover? JC, you would most likely know more about this than I do.

Yes, but removing the frunk bucket is only 4 push pins on an F3 and gives you direct access to the battery.

His profile says he has a 2015 RT Limited. Accessing the battery or the remote terminals is really easy either way. I guess just a matter of personal preference.

I just installed this on my 2016 RT Limited, after having to jump it on the road. It will be a lot quicker and easier than unloading the frunk and opening the battery compt. It was easy to install, and I thought it was reasonably priced.

i keep 2 small vise grips in the frunk to put on the posts for better grip
for the jumper cables. hope i never need them.

I can see that this would be a option to have and hopefully don't need to use it very often. It would also be a very easy way to trickle charge a battery or connect a battery maintainer when needed. As far as the possibility of getting water in around the cap, it is brass and should not hurt anything. About all commercial vehicles have these on them with and without caps on the terminals.

My (previously owned) BMW Z4 had this type of set up under the hood (bonnet). Battery was in the trunk (boot). Had to use it once to charge the battery. Easy to use and no messy battery terminals to deal with.....
