• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Has anyone ever got a tank of bad gas.

I was just wondering if anyone ever had gotten a bad tank of gas. I posted yesterday about chattering and acceleration/ chattering and gaging issues in first gear but is fine after that. Anyway I just realized all my problems started after last full up. Coincidence? Any thoughts?

BAD GAS

Been there done that. Add the fuel treatment of your choice. It should help clear things up.

some times when the station is low in their tanks you can suck up some water, happened to me years ago but not since

Orrr.... if they just got filled; that can mix all of the crud at the bottom of the tank up into the fuel that you've just pumped into your pride and joy!

Not yet..!!

but run seafoam every few tanks just to keep things nice in my tank. Know of those that have and with an additive they cleared things up...

Bad fuel

Been there, done that! Now I use Startron at every fuel up! No problems since....:firstplace:

I guess i should consider myself lucky. It has only happened to me once while I was still riding on 2 wheels. My particular situation was that they were filling their gas tanks and I was getting gas at the same time. The place that I was getting gas was only about 1 1/2 miles from home but I was really lucky to make it home cause the bike was cutting out and back firing really bad. I drained my gas tank and had nearly 6 ounces of water. Lesson learned, never get gas from any station that are getting their tanks filled.

Also check Vacum lines if it happensagain

Troy, if it happens again, I highly recommend you check the two vacuum lines on the MAP sensor. BRP did not use high temp silicone for the lines and they will eventually get too hot, become brittle and crack allowing in excess air and cause the bike computer to enrichen the fuel mixture to compensate. This is a rather common failure on our Spyders. When it happens, you will have runability problems to include some of the symptoms you described.
