Has anyone else's 2022 Spyder RT Limited made this loud noise? Any ideas?

Hey folks, this has happened 3 or 4 times. When backing out of my driveway very slowly, or even going forward, with a passenger (130 lbs), I heard a very loud snapping like sound coming from the rear of the bike. It literally sounds like the frame has snapped in half. I looked underneath for anything obvious but didn't see anything that stands out. My driveway is about 1 inch higher than the street. The Spyder runs fine, and makes no noise while riding. It has about 8,000 miles now, but also made the noise when I had about 5,000 miles on it. Just wondering if anyone has experienced such a noise coming from the rear, or would have an idea what this may be? I will most likely take it to the dealer if I can't figure it out. Thanks in advance!

Have you checked the Front Sprocket for any signs of movement, wear, red dust, etc?? Or had that sprocket replaced??

Apart from the Front Sprocket skipping on the splines, the only other thing I can think of that might easily make that sort of noise is a skipping belt - have you checked your belt condition & its tension?

They might be SWAG's, but then again, it might be worth looking carefully at those?!

Good Luck! ;)

Maybe you should look at the shock bolts to see if you have a loose one! You're not dragging your mud flap?

I haven't checked the front sprocket because my bike wasn't part of the recall. However, I will have a look. The belt looks good. Thank you.

I would look at the belt damper for signs of damage. If the tension spring has broken, that would cause the tension arm to be thrown up as slack was taken up on the belt.
I'll have a look. Thank you.

Thanks for the thought. I'll see if I can get to the rear shock.

Perhaps your belt is misaligned and the snapping noise is the belt snapping back into place? You could jack the bike up and hand roll your back tire and watch belt movements. Or you could have some watch the belt as your drive it forward and backward very slowly on a straight and level surface.
