So, I did a search and all I came up with was people trying to figure out if the comfort seat really came with the Limited for 2012. I didn't find where anyone actually bought one and what the results were. I am 6'1" and could really use the 2". My knees are bent backward. The knees don't hurt, but my hips feel funny after some miles. I ride a Ski-Doo sled and my knees are at a perfect right angle. In that position, I can ride a couple hundred miles a day without fatigue. So, has anyone tried the seat and if so, did the extra 2" help? I'm nervous about ordering a $550 seat that is non returnable. Any input would be appreciated....

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Last year this time I was in the process of buying my 2011 Spyder RT. I DID buy the BPR Comfort seat after putting a couple hundred miles on my machine. I found it to be more comfortable. This year I bought gel pads,will find how they work tomorrow because I will retrieve my Spyder from winter storage about 30 miles from my home.
You are welcome here to investigate before making the purchase. I did just that at my dealers--he had a Spyder there that was in for oil change and it had a comfort seat installed=I sat on it and liked it.:2thumbs:

I have had mine for about 3 weeks - 2011 RT SM5. I do see the difference and my knees sure appreciate it. I will be putting on a Utopia backrest at some point but the seat is good for me. I still have right hip issues at time but the extra room gives me some more movement options.
Although pricey, I think it was worth it. Also on a good note, I didn't lose any parts into the black abyss ...

I was planning on going to my dealer within the month and see if he had a :spyder2: with comfort seat. I will definately have to test sit before I buy.

I'm not as tall as you, but here is what I did that now allowed me to ride 4000+ miles in 10 days last year. Instead of changing out the saddle, I installed the Utopia backrest, KewlMetal highway brackets and KuryAkyn ISO Boards. The result is that I can actually stand on the boards for extended times, allowing blood and air to flow in the backside. When standing, I'm only rising an inch or so from the seated position & leaning against the Utopia. I can steer with one or two hands.
Your legs are likely a bit longer than mine, but the brackets come with various links to allow you to get the right fit for you.

I bought the seat and installed it. I posted on another post that I am not sure it is more comfortable. There is the more room in the front, but with a passenger it gets pretty crowded for them in the back. It is more firm (like Corbin) but not as firm as the Corbin. I only have a few hundred miles on it so time will tell. At this point I cannot recommend or not recommend it. It would have been nice if the dealer had one on a RT to sit on to see if it was more comfortable. I am 6'2" and about 220. I did notice that when I sit on the bike (I have long arms) that I sit up a little straighter since I am 2 inches further back and the bars are in the same location.

I have not ridden two-up but the passenger seat is a little shorter. I guess it depends on the anatomy of your passenger ... :shocked:

They used the original cover as I did not want to lose the number as it is # 00014 the seat still looks factory as they did not glue the fabric where they dished it only the back rest portion as there is also a velcro type fastner between the cover and the foam. So if you look at it you cant tell it's dished until you sit on it or push on it with your hand. I did not do anything to the passenger potion. I have about 3000 miles on it since and I am alot more comfortable and very pleased with the outcome. You have to remember though that there is a plastic lever that is in the foam in the passenger section for the sensor that need to be put back before the cover is reinstalled.
