• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hardware for LED install....

TricLed hasn't answered the phone in a week (they must be out on a long vacation). Anyway, I'm trying to order some flexible LED's off their website, and need some help on what I need. I see that the terminal blocks supposedly make it easier to connect all the LED's from multiple locations into one location....but what do I need to connect the terminal block to a power source? Should I buy the OEM style connectors as well for the flexible LED's, or are these connectors for the daytime running lights?

P.S. break it down to me in monkey terms. My understanding of electronics is pending.....LOL

Tricled

I sent an email to him via his web-site a few days ago and he responded the same day. He has been out of town, but will apparently be back in next week. He's probably the best person to answer your question and he's very helpful.

The Break Down!

Its all good. First off - Reggy went to Durango, and most likely his #1 (and I think TricLED is just the 2 of them).

So here is what I suggest.

I have a couple of different things happening so I will talk about that.

TricFenderz - I connected them as per his instructions, and they require nothing other than the items they come with, wiring is all located inside / on the fender over the front tires, so nothing additional is needed. If you want them to flash like turn signals and other jazz, you will need a street magic box (I think, my stuff already did all this when I got it, so it is outside of my line of understanding).

TricHalos - I have uppers and fogs on my halos, for them you will need his kit, 2 terminal blocks (which comes with the halo kits if you order both at once, a switch (also in the kit). The final item you will need is some small gauge wire to go from the terminal block to the battery.

This is where I will interject another product for suggestion, Look up powerlet's termin-8 product. it is a set of posts that connect to your battery and allow you EASY access to battery connection posts directly under the seat (thanks CjackG for being my mentor here and bringing this to my attention). This way you dont have to break loose all the tupperware everytime you want something new to touch the battery.

Ok, so you put on whatever body lights you are after, you pull those wires back to the terminal blocks, (One being positive, one being negative), also you pull the positive wire from the block to the switch. (If you are using a remote this changes the process). Then connect the switch to the terminate's and the negative block to the battery.

So recap - Lights to block (1 +, 1 -), switch + to + block. Switch to Terminate (+,-) - block to - terminate.

At this point fire it up and let there be light.

I will check these directions on my bike at lunch to be sure I am not lying to you, but this is about the long and short of it.

I am mechanically challenged in a major way, and have NEVER done anything to a vechile until my spyder and between Reggy's directions and this site, I have made various changes to the spyder with great success.

Oh I totally understand him being out.....if I had my choice, I'd be on vacation too. LOL

I just wanted to go ahead and pull the trigger on this, and thought I'd see if anyone knows what hardware I need extra along with the flexible LED's.

An easy way to get your fenders and/or tips to flash as turn signals is to just tap into your turn signals in the dash. Run a wire from your tips under the A frame and up into the dash. Its a brown or gray wire:dontknow: sorry I forgot. I'll doulbe check today and edit this post.

Good luck. We need pictures when you're done.

Reggy offers the fuze fz1 switched fuse block. This will turn on your accessories when you turn on your Spyder, and comes with everything needed for installation. According to am email I got from Reggy a few days ago, he plans to be back on Monday, ashe was at the brp owners event . You might want to try email instead of phone, you'll probably have better luck. Honestly, idkeep your business with TricLED. They really do have awesome service and products and will do everything that can to make you happy.
