I just want to send a big salute to all our veterans and active duty - the Brave men and women of United States Military. We all owe a huge debt of gratitude for those who have made sacrifices for our freedom. May God bless them and their families. While it's nowhere near enough, I want to say Thank You !!!

'Ditto' many times over, we cannot thank our veterans and active duty members enough.

Where were all of you Hippocrates back in 1968. You can never make up for what you did to us Vietnam Veterans when we came home. You people. You know who you are. We where Shunned by the public. No place to go for help. I could go on and on. In the 200+ years this beautiful country has had service men. They all arrived home as HEROS. This crap that we are fighting is just another Vietnam with another name. I am proud of my brothers and sisters in the Military. All Vietnam Veterans are proud of them also. And the rest of you Hippocrates can EAT Sh-t

Hypocrite? I, for one, was only 12 years old at the time. Even so, I was raised in family that thanks and honors our returning men for both their service to us and their sacrifice for our country, both THEN and NOW.

Please don't paint us all with so broad a brush! Your all encompassing assumption is both incorrect, IMO, and insulting to me.

I am sorry you feel that way. Obviously the wishes to the Veterens are not comming hippocrates, but from people who care, appreciate what service men and woman do and who they are.

My father served 2 tours in Vietnam. I was very thankful that he made it home. To me he was (still is) a Hero as well as his brothers in arms. The fact that we still don't know what happened to all the POW's and MIA's, saddens me.

You may be bitter about how Vietnam Vet's were treated when they came home, and you have every right to be. That does not entitle you to judge and generelize, the well wishs from people who care.

OK, I am off the soapbox.

Happy Veterens Day, To all Service Men and Women. May god keep you safe from harm.

I blame one Vietnam vet for what all the rest of us went through, after he lied in front a senate hearing.

I'm not going to mention his name, cause I can't stand thinking about him. But, he's the only American that has his portrait hanging in the Vietnam Memorial Museum in Hanoi and now the senior senator in a Northeastern State.

Happy Veterans day to All that served in the past and All American's that support our service people in Arms way today.

If You Can't Stand Behind Them, Stand in Front of Them.

Wow! I think you're addressing the wrong people.

The ones you reference were a relatively vocal few who got the headlines and press coverage. Though the news media did their best to make it seem like they were "Everyone", it is not an accurate assessment. No one should lump myself, SpyderLovers that have voiced their appreciation here, and millions of other Americans in with that crowd.

Sorry you had a bad experience when you came home but that was not my doing, nor did I support those that treated you that way.

I did not go to V.N. but I had a lot of friends that did. Some didn't come back. I was young then and didn't understand or appreciate what they did as much as I should have at the time. But I still respected them and the job they tried to do.

Over the years I've learned more about V.N. and the military in general. My respect and admiration has matured as have I. But never have I held anything but respect for our armed forces. And I think many here would fall into the same category.

You can lump all Americans into your hypocritical category if you like. But in doing so you are comitting the same error as those who dispised you for being in the military.

I am sorry you feel this way about America. I appologize for anything I might have done to give you this skewed impression. But this does not lessen my great respect and gratitude for our armed forces, past and present, including those that served in Viet Nam.

You don't have to go to war to appreciate those that do.

I was only 12 when they signed the treaty to end the Vietnam War, but I was very aware that it was a war. I even wore a POW bracelet for a very long time. I used to watch the local newspaper every Sunday looking for my POW's name on the list of men returning home. It never happened and one day the bracelet broke. I wish I still had it or could remember the soldiers name but unfortunately I can not. But have it known, that everyone was not against the men who fought in Vietnam. Everyone did not treat the vets badly. I was raised to be proud of our flag and our country, to stand and be respectful during the National Anthem and to be thankful for our troops. My father was in the Air Force at the very earliest stages of Vietnam, I had one grandfather in WWII and one in Korea. No one should ever lump a group of people that is supporting our troops and saying thank you into a category and label them as hypocrites. I am very thankful for every member of our armed services and every war and skirmish they may have to participate in. I also wish the schools still taught and said the Pledge of Allegiance every day like they did when I was in school. So here in honor of our country and service people:
