Handlebars canted slightly left

I have a 2013 ST with 3200 miles on it. It appears as if the handlebars are canted left somewhat. It seems to track straight and doesn't pull left or right but when I am traveling down a straight rode, the bars are maybe 5 degrees left of center. Tire wear is even. Is an alignment in order? Is there an adjustment to correct this?

Mine was exactly the same from the factory. When I had the bike lazer aligned they got the bars properly aligned as well. It was not a big deal but it was anoying. What we did find is that the right tie rod was badly bent as if some one had stepped on it. I got a new one under warranty and I installed it myself being careful to setting the overall length exactly to that of the bent bar. Turns out it also fixed wierd noise I had had since I purhased the bike. The bent protion was touching the plastic shrould over the lower a frame just enough to cause the noise.

OFF STEERING

This can be corrected with a tie rod adjustment......as stated above , if you bought it this way it's not really an alignment issue in the normal sense. The dealer / warranty should cover the fact that your Spyder is not going STRAIGHT when it's pointed straight......If you can get a LAZER alignment that is the route I would advise ..........AFTER the warranty fix......................JMHO......Mike :thumbup:

Kill two birds with one stone and get an alignment. Your handlebars will be where you want them and your wheels will be aligned.

I think it has always been there but appears to have gotten somewhat worse as time goes on.

Like mentioned have the alignment done and all will be right. If you start messing with the tie rods or replacing them you will end up needing an alignment anyway to make sure its right...:thumbup:

Palm Bay, you are right that it doesn't seem right but that is how they make them. We have done over 300 alignments and have only had one that was within spec. You could have your dealer adjust the tie rod so the bars are straight but they will mess up the alignment.

the adjustment to correct this?.......adjust both wheels the SAME amount towards the offset....in your case shorten the left side tie rod then lengthen the right side tie rod.....start with a quarter of a turn on each tie rod then ride bike to test...of course this is done at your local bike shop

you will need buds to reset centres

not giving advice..just answering the question

if i was giving advice it would be ;get a proper wheel alignment
