• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Greetings!
I just bought a 2014 RT Limited. Have had it 2 weeks now! It is a used bike, had 5100 miles. I have been wanting a spyder for several years. This one came up and the price was right, SO I pulled the trigger and am now a proud owner. I love the bike!!!

First, I would like to put on thick foam sleeves on the grips along with the assist paddle? Any one have preference of one over another? Which one would yall suggest.

Second, a fellow worker has a 2011 RT and has handle risers. ( looks like two dog bone shaped clamps ) he adjusted them forward and slightly upward, I have long arms and his handles felt a lot better then mine. Everywhere I look the risers only go up to 2012, will they still work on my 2014? If not where can I find ones that will?

Third, Have read a lot of what yall have said about highway pegs, think I will go with the RIVCO mounts and the no vibration pegs.

I was not too impressed with the rear lighting, ie brake lights and turn signals in the late afternoon, very hard to see, ordered an aux brake light for the upper luggage compartment and lighting up the reflectors on the side compartments as well as the fenders.

Going to enjoy this bike for a long time.

Pics

If you could possibly post a PIC of those ( your friends ) that would be great !!!!.......It has been claimed it couldn't be done on the RT model.....Mike

I'll try to get some pics, don't know if he will like me posting pics of his bike. He is a private type of person.

Look for a different Highway Peg setup

The RIVCO highway pegs have a problem in that the will break the air deflector is you step down hard on the right floorboard. The right floorboard is a break away design. If you are going to mount highway pegs to the floorboard you want the ones that go to the outside of the air deflector.

Got some Pics.

Ok got some pics. Can't figure out why they are sideways, they are correctly saved?

The bike is a 2011 RTS. Yes the wires and cables are outside of the handle bar casings, they were not long enough, He wanted to be comfortable, so he rapped the wires and cables with spiral rap. He did not cut the parts as suggested but used them as is. The whole conversion can be reversed in about 20 minutes.

WOW...This is incredible....I don't think anyone has said they have done or seen this done prior to this.......I know quite a few folks have asked in the past and were told it couldn't BE DONE.........It's interesting that NOTHING was cut to do this and it can be re-turned to OEM ??? ( this is correct - right !! )......It's also interesting that He has the GRIPS moved FORWARD.....usually people are going UP & BACK .....Thanks again for the PICS ....nice job..:yes::yes::yes:.................Mike
