• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

HANDLEBAR COVER REMOVAL

Questions

:helpsmilie:What is involved in removing handlebar cover on 08 gs? got a spare set of wheels for powdercoating and would like to do the cover as well.

I have never done it myself, but it has been discussed several times over the last couple years. The search function should get you what you are looking for. As I remember it was pretty straightforward, but a couple of the fasteners are hard to get at requiring a ratcheting wrench or a shallow socket. Good Luck

2 10mm Bolts lower front
2 8mm Bolts outer edges
2 8mm Bolts in middle -very hard to find?
You need a deep slim line 8mm and a short 10mm
This is to get the plastic cover off the bottom!:helpsmilie:

Royal pain in the rear... Best advice... Take an old bed sheet and wrap it over the Spyder and fully under the handle bar assembly. Reason: You drop one of those little bolts... AND YOU WILL, you will have a field day trying to find it in the nooks and crannies of the motor, bottom plates, etc if it doesn't make it all the way to the floor.

2nd best advice... Be careful putting the new one back on... That cover is fairly soft and strips readily.
